X games and Yamaha

None of the current sleds from any brand are "faster" than in past 5-8 years. Not more than 1-2 mph which doesn't justufy $15,000ish imo for new sled. The ride handle better they are lighter than the rx1ton by 100lbs and a turbo viper is same price as the 800s when spring checked and much much much faster than your old sled and any other production sled.

And that brings up another reason Yamaha isn't investing a ton. Many people still are riding 10-13 (model) year old sleds because of how durable these things are. You don't feel you need to get a new one when you get near 2-3000 mi or rebuild motors.

But yes 2 factory riders making it to the xgames when there are only 2 to begin with and then podiuming is great for a first showing. They need priveteers not more factory teams. Yamaha is only team that ever solely sponsors itself on snow, not them backing deep pocketed teams like Polaris or skidoo who end up developing a lot of the sled. Tim bender developed the front and rear suspension under the iqr's that are being raced.

For the record my T3 with a full 4 year waranty was a whole lot cheaper than a spring check viper with the turbo and 1 year waranty. Last place in sales by long shot tells me their approach to selling sleds isn't working very well, this is coming from a guy that was brand loyal for 25 years......

Not sure what a t3 even is. And not saying their approach is the best I'm pointing out that their top of line viper with turbo is still in running with the xrs, axis, snopro RR 800 price range and cheaper than the 1100t snoproRR

I ride a Turbo Cat now but I was jumping up and down watching that Viper get the hole shot in almost every race. I would take a turbo viper anyday over this sewing machine that I ride. Go Yamaha.

So some heavy slug of a 4 stroke got on the podium and sent most of the RMSHA hot dogs home......I think that's a pretty good display of competitiveness..... Cool by me :)

Points Champion, Season Series Champ, that's good news. One or two podiums in a year is no big deal to get excited about. It just means you got lucky, didn't the right lane win every heat, lol. Even more embarassing when the borrowed chassis your using finished first, but weight doesn't matter, lol!!!!! As long as it "FEELS" lighter...
