After 700 miles of gingerally riding along (I'm 50... the bod cant do anything like it could before)... at 2 below zero riding along minding my on b'ness....
bang ~ Front shock broke where it was threaded into the lower attachment.... Ooops.
Now, I suspect a heat treat issue... at the dealer now for repair.
Didn't see that coming.... good thing I didn't whack a tree?

2009 nytro xtx, 522 miles left shock rod broken with 1/2 to 3/4 thread showing 579 miles right shock rod broke same exact place. not a big deal, only $1000 and one broken collar bone. glad i didnt hit that tree you're talking about. might be dead.

broken front shocks on 09 nytro xtx
Just got a call from local dealer in PA the reason both gytr shocks broke with only 580 miles is because dealer from Ohio I bought it from in October put it together wrong out of the crate. Find out particulars in a.m.

I put iqr race shocks on mine 5/8" shaft on them, dunno what the stock nytro shock shaft measures?

steel bushings were not installed in lower aluminum shock mount at time of assembly at dealer. Causing the a-arm to squeeze lower shock mount prohibiting movement and forcing the rod to flex.
