Before i say what happend to me this morning, heres my life since i spring checked my XTX, i have searched and searched and made wish list on parts for my XTX and counted the days, i called the dealer in Aug. to ask if they knew when they were going to get the sleds in than called again in Sept. just checkin in when i saw some other people were getting there sleds in on here the Forum, than last week to check again, and so what happend this morning...I get a call not sure of the number so i dont answer than i check the message and this is what the voice mail said "Hey chris this is the dealer and we were just double checking if you still wanted to cancel your sled cause we have someone that wants it call us back".. so i thought maybe this was a joke and i called back and it wasnt a joke i almost lost my mind. So long story sort is i was able to claim my sled back again but what i dont understand it why they wouldve thought i canceled it and than called to ask me and if it was canceled why would they get the sled anyways?? and not say anything about the 3gs i put down on the sled. So i dont know why they would think i would just give up my 3 grand and call them 5 times asking when it was going to come in???

Someone probably offered $1k over your price and they were *hoping* you wanted to cancel your order, you know, due to the "bad economy" and all....

WHY do you people give these dealers more that the required $300 deposit?
The $300 goes directely to Yamaha, any extra that you give them goes into the dealers pocket. If he closes shop, your $2,700 is GONE. The $300 you gave Yamaha is fine, and you have papers for that. I had the money to fully pay for my XTX in Spring, but there was no way I was trusting ANY dealer with my $9,500. I invested the money and made $300 in interrest.

ummm...sounds like the dealer is not too organized. he has three thousand of yours and calls you to see if you want to cancel it? if i were him i think i would have done a little research before calling you...hope all goes well with the sled and maybe now the dealer will get to know you a little better!

I had a Yamaha card before i checked my XTX in the spring, and i used my card for the depost of 3,000 thru yamaha than called Yamaha credit after the fact with the Debit card and payed it off, and if something happend to the dealer they would send your sled that you have ordered to another dealer i looked into cause i thought about the same thing you said and the money from Yamaha credit is insured.

Call Yamaha
I have had this problem before. The best way to get results and answers is to call Yamaha direct. Go to the website and get Yamahas phone # for customer service, explain what is going on. They can help you find out when and were your sled is and if the dealer even ordered it. They will help you, and they will call you back with results.
I recently ordered a 2009 Yamaha Motorcycle, put down a deposit was told it would be in July of 09, my dealer said he could not find anything out, well by the end of August I was getting a little concerned as most other dealers in my area already had the same bike on there showroom floors.
So I call Yamaha direct, within 2 hours my dealer who could not find out when or where the hell it was had a delivery date and was extremely helpful all of a sudden.
So do yourself a favor call Yamaha they will help you find out when and where.
Good luck.
