Looking for recomendations on vent options for lower clutch side and oil reservoir side. There is a ton of snow going through the open vents. There is currently about 1/4 slots for the current stock set up. Is there anyone out there that has created a kit for the prevention of all this snow in the cluth bay and same on opposite side. There are companies that make the mesh vent kits. Looking for your guys opinions!

I tried like crazy this summer to find someone that made a vent cover for the oil tank side and couldn't find anyone. So I ended up getting some pet screen from a local shop and cut it to size, then used a hot glue gun to hold it in place. I don't have any trail time on it yet to see if it is any better, but anything should be better then the wide open slots.

Not too sure where on the clutch side you are talking about for the vent? Do you mean on the back side by the gas tank? If so, I haven't filled those in as I can't see much snow getting sucked into there, especially with all of the other vents taking in air at speed.

I was thinking the vents were identical on both sides but i was wrong. Its just the lower side by the oil reservoir. Did you guys mount the vent on the outside or inside of the plastic?

Pete, did you use hot glue as well?

There's a 4" (if I remember right) frogzskin that covers that vent. I've got a piece of window screen taped onto the inside but snow does still get in. And it has to be redone occasionally as well.

I made a set a few yrs ago for my 09 xtx. Riveted a stainless screen, cut to size, for both sides. I was tired of all that snow getting in. Has worked very well since. Also made my soft screens for the upper vents andsecured them on the underside of the plastic. I used butyl tape to adhere them. This is the soft black tape that I bought at Speedy Auto Glass, a roll of 25' for about $15. It adheres well and stays in place, yet easy to peel off. Also used it to seal the seams where the plastic meets at the nose of the sled (where the oem tool bag sits)

I used a double layer of black pet screen on every vent on the sled . Also did inside behind the tool kit up to the headlight. Used some black tie wraps and all the vents look great. Had lots of snow everywhere after playing in some deeper stuff, but now I don't get much in at all.

Walter I have not installed Frogzskin it was just a recommendation so no hotglue. I would probably try the double stick tape myself.

Pete

You can buy a frogskin that fits over the vent has the glue around the outside edge. I did mine two years ago and its still on there just stuck it on the outside, make sure its clean wipe with alcohol before sticking it on should be good. Cheap and easy

Exact same thing that I did and it works perfect. No more snow making ice under the oil tank.
