XTX SE Owners......Hood ?

Sitting on the machine, the left side vent on the hood over the clutch area has a frog screen type grill over it but the right side vent is wide open.....no grill.

Is this normal or am I missing that grill ??

My LTX SE is the same way and like you I thought it was missing. I went and looked at another Viper at the dealer and it was the same way. You think they would have the vent cover on both vents ... a bit strange IMO.

My LTX has the opening, but no black vent over it like the XTX.

ditto no cover on right side... frogzskin has screens for that side on there page. a bit pricey i think.

You are correct. The clutch side on the XTX has the screen but the other side has the same opening on the hood....just no screen. Thought it was odd but sounds like that's how they came. Maybe it's an attempt to help vent or cool the muffler but having a sceen wouldn't prevent that.

Snow ingestion on the clutch side will have a detrimental effect on sled performance, ie. clutch slipping. Snow ingestion on the mag side will not, therfore not a must, therefore no frogskin due to cost.
