so i picked up a 2008 nytro that had a tracks usa extention and a 136x1 3/8 cobra track. i have since removed all that and am 3/4 way through installing a XTX skid and a 144x 1.75 backcountry track. thinking it would be a simple swap is the only reason im doing this instead of just adding the longer tipped up extensions. so i got the track installed, and the skid is in the track, track adjusters are loosened all the way, the front skid mounts are bolted up and now hears the problem,.... to get the rear of the skid to the right height compared to the tunnel i am out of track tension. there is like 1/2" of sag if i mount the skid here, if i move the rear mount down the front of the skid is off the ground.!! i thought about dropping the front holes some but dont want to make the sled handle badly.... HELP!!!!!

Are you just using the stock mounting holes, cuz I believe they are different locations. Could be your problem

The front hole yes. All the pics ive looked at seem to be the same for the front mount unless im going to a mtx skid or other long setups. The rear hole is obviously different. Both skids sit same height so I figured could basically draw a straight line back from front mount through the old rear mount and that would be where the new hole is. I bought a set of XTX drop brackets not knowing the tunnels are not the same at the rear. So the xtx brackets are not even close since the xtx skid will be mounted pretty much to the tunnel with no dropout needed. The xtx tunnel is more wedge shaped then mine. For instance measuring from the inside bottom of the tunnel ceiling to the bottom of the floorboard is about 10.5" where the rear mount would go.

The xtx skid has different mounts and different tunnels than the 08's so using pictures and your tunnel is going to be a problem.

Pretty simply measurememts I think. All should be to center of the hole or bolt. Go from the flat side of hex back to front hole.. and also from hex to rear hole. Then from front hole to rear hole to double check. Also best way I can think to explain is if u draw a line through them 2 holes amd past the hex... how far above the hex would that line be.

I installed a 2010 xtx skid in my 08 nytro shorty. I had no choice but to redrill new holes up front and move the inner plates. You will also need rear brackets

Sorry I don't have any pics as I'm away from home. I'll be finished work and home dec7th. You have to forget about eyeballing it from other nytros as the 08 chassis and some rivets and plates just don't look right compared to others. I took measurements from a 2010 xtx using the drive shaft as a starting point. Then I made sure to mount the skid so the bolts set the track nice and level "paralleled" to the sprockets. It was only less then an 1/2 inch I drilled new holes each way. If your not started by then I'll take whatever photos you need. Just pm me
