Changed slides but 1 screw won't go back into the rail. Goes 1/2 way then stops. I hope I didn't cross thread as I have a trip planned for next week and have no idea how to fix. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone know the screw size and where to get a replacement?
Thanks,
Brett

sorry about the double post and poor spelling! Not sure what I was thinking.
Re: XTX slider rale screw - Need Ideas
Sounds like it's cross threaded. Bolt size is an M6 x 1.0 pitch. You can buy a thread repair kit from companies like Heli-Coil. Requires you to drill, re-tap and thread in a stainless steel threaded insert. You might get lucky and re-thread the existiing hole with a standard M6 tap. Good luck to you.

Once they get cross threaded you are pretty much screwed (no pun intended). Use a philips head driver on a ratchet, to get more leverage. Back it out and try to straighten it. If that doesn't work, and you have the time try the solution in this post. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=78847&highlight=slider+bolts+fix

what about a shorter screw and screw lock? Would I need to replace the entire rail? I'll try the ratchet first....I would hate to pay a dealer to fix this...anyone local want to help if I can't make it work?
scmurs...I'll buy a relocator from you

You won't need to replace the rail, you can fix it. And by the way, I suggest you get the relocator anyway. Great product.

x2 on the link above for a fix. Everyone should do it. It takes 10 mins and saves a lot of hassle.

fixed it today. New bolt with socket and blue locktight and it went right in with a little more pressure. I've saved this pictures for this fix just in case!
Thanks everyone.
