XTX vs 128"

I guess my both 2011 apex's were made on the same day as geez150. on the lake my 07 attack and both 2011 will stay close for the first 300 to 400 feet then the 07 starts to pull away. I was thinking of a pc5 but seems I cant get any honest feed back on how it works on 2011 apex xtx. some guys say it is the ticket to get the apex to really run others say there is no difference at all other than burn more fuel. just like some on here say there 2013 apex really hauls the mail but they have not held the throttle to the stop yet????????? none of my friends with new 800's will line up with my old 07 attack because they have all been beat by that sled but they all laugh at my 2011's and make me smell 2 stroke smoke all day because I don't have enough motor to pass them. I hate to through a bunch of money at it and get no better power. don't want to supercharge it and end up with a $20k temper mental time bomb.

Sorry to hear you haven't gotten anything, you asked for, but on the 144, they are a different pitch than the newer 128's. (2.52 vs 2.86)
The 128's have a wider lug spacing, and most of the new sleds are going to this I believe. I can't compare a 128 for you , but I do have 2 sleds that both have the 144 XTX skid in them. One is a 1-3/8" Cobra, and the other is a 1 3/4" backcountry. The Cobra is the 2.52 pitch and depending on where the track stops turning, you'll have approx 18 lugs in contact with the ground. The 1 3/4" Backcountry is the 2.82 pitch (had to change drivers) and has approx 16 lugs touching the ground.

The XTX skid in theory has a contact patch of a 121 on the hardest of surfaces, and the softer/deeper you go, the more contact the tip up rails have. I can only assume that the 128 is going to be right in the 16-17 lug range as far as contact with the ground, so there's really not much difference as far as that goes. Riding conditions are going to play a much bigger role in my opinion than the number of lugs on the ground.

To answer your handling question, that's a pretty difficult question to answer since no two sleds are going to be exactly the same. You can get any sled to handle horribly or excelent depending on how you set it up, what track/skis/shocks/etc each sled has, as well as how you ride it. Can you be a little more specific with your question? My Apex is an '06, and I've ridden other '06's and thought they were totally different than mine, just because they were set up a little differently.
