I have 3,200 hard miles on my sled and my headers and donuts are just fine.

Iceman,

I like your new avitar much better!

Most people are seeing them go at 2500-3500 miles. Mine went at 8600 and I have 3000 on the new set with no problems yet.
When it begins to backfire on decel its time for new ones.

do all years have the problem ?or is it 06 07?

It's mostly affecting the Titanium Y-pipe sleds...05-current (I guess). I think mine went at about 6000kms.

Replaced mine at 6000kms. Two were completely gone, 1 was 1/2 there and the right side cylinder was completely intact. No backfiring, just heard what sounded like a header leak about at about 5000kms

'07 Attak GT with 2,300 miles 1 donut gone.....2 badly worn..and 1 was ok. My left "Y" pipe was also cracked. Everything was replaced under YES warranty.

I say check it when you can. Better to find a problem now and fix it..then have a problem out on the trails...not to mention you can cause more problems ($$) if you dont replace that cheap donut that needs to be replaced or let it go and have to eventually replace a Y pipe ($300-400).

When mine went bad, I had a cracked titanium pipe. they were not available then, and the cost was about $250 each. RX1 stainless pipes are about $150 each, if I remember right.

I bought a set of used RX1 pipes, and had a muffler shop add about 1" to the length to match the Apex pipes. I paid $150 for 2 pipes, and $20 to the muffler shop. Stainless will not crack as easily, and could be welded. It's a big deal to have titanium welded.

i had 3,300 miles and they(donuts) were toast but i ran her pretty hard. a lot of high speed ice radar runs the first 2 years. no damage to Y-Pipes though.

Mine failed at 7700 km. No backfiring, but the sound of the exhaust changed quite a bit. This was something I was paying attention to from other posts and caught the failure before the Y-pipes were affected. To bad I never noticed the post on the jack-shaft bearing.
