Hey folks, I'm trying to replace my y pipes on an 07 Attak. I cannot get the y pipes separated from the rest of the exhaust so that I can pull it back and get room to remove y pipes. I have the clamp bolts removed under the seat, clamp bolts for y pipes loosened and she still won't budge. Tried heat tried pounding on it with a hammer and block of wood. Still no go. My question is if I remove the clamps from the flex pipes and drill out the rivets holding the y pipe bracket will i be able to remove the entire exhaust system via the hole under the muffler? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Heat always works for me.

Yes. You can drill out the rivets holding the Y pipes bracket

You wont be able to pull the muffler with the y pipes still attached through the hole out back. I tried. Dont drill out the rivets before you seperate the muffler. Trust me. I ended up laying a chunk of 4x4 across the back of the muffler, and then used a sledge. lol. A few harder than I wanted to use taps, and boom. Came off.

Thanks guys. Used a bigger hammer and got her to come loose.
