Just called my dealer and mine is back-ordered also. Ordered it the 8th. Shipping date is supposed to be the 30th.
This is the FIRST time this has ever happened to me in the last 15 years. Only broke-down once before when Cat had the problems with the '98 600 motors. But they 2nd day aired the motors to everyone that had it blow. Was back up running in 4 days.
I'm leaving right now to see if it can be welded.
Have reservations and time-off for a 6-day trip a week from today to Lac StJean. Thank-you Yamaha.

Dealer replaced my right side y pipe 2 weeks. Rode 500 miles and noticed an exhaust leak again. Not happy, decided to have a friend who is a good mechanic tear apart and see what's going on. Now left side y pipe is cracked. I have a saddlebag trip to the UP planned for the 27th. Not going to be happy if the parts don't come in.

If under warranty won't Y.E.S. give you a sled to ride or am I not understanding the warranty?

this is a good thing!
This may be a blessing in disguise , if there are enough problems and or failures won't thye fix them with a better more durable replacement y pipe ? Can we not use the y pipe from the RX-1 because it's stainless, perhaps it'll last much longer? I would encourage everyone to report this to your dealers , have it documented for the future owners and us current owners who haven't yet encountered the problem .
