Quite a few sleds in this. 2011 Pror 800, 2013 Doo800, stk Apex, 2008 D&d modded f8, XC 700 and the guy with the helmet cam on a 260hp f1100 cat turbo. Fun race. I was pleased with my apex for sure. That cat really worked though. He pulled one run that day showing 138 on the dreameter.

I like it. Not making the power of a turbo or supercharger but it's cheaper, light and has no affect on fuel mileage. Also seems to be reliable with very few moving parts.
 
It makes 2 lb of boost so I would say very close to 20 hp. It will beat a f1100 turbo and I know they are around 170. Installation is not bad. Plan on a day.
 
The first part of the video isn't where we really lined up. You need to watch to about halfway point where we run back down the lake.
 
Ya I did watch the whole thing...you guys were on more snow on the second race, yep for the money its a great bolt on item.

Been a funny year. Started as the best year in many then had a week of warm temps and basically had to start over. More on the trails than lake thankfully.
 
I was just happy to beat the stock 1100Turbo which is on the far left but actually did okay against the modded turbo. The guy with the helmet cam had boost control and fuel control pushing 260hp. I found the key with my sled was to not pin it out of the hole. Apex's have difficutly finding taction.
 
jason that cat had a td tune on it..the knock light flickered! something wasnt right with his setup...looked poochy

Your Yama charged apex should destroy a a stock 1100 turbo. The mad Russian beat my stock 1100 very easy. My etec 800 actually gave him a better race.

When I was racing in lake city with my turbo I destroyed sleds that turbo was racing. Im not impressed with him at all!!!!

I don't get it.

Why should / does a 170 HP Yamacharged Tank destroy a 177 hp lighter Cat?

Why can a tuned 153 HP stock Apex & a 155 HP 800 Doo with a 15 " track do the same?

Are Cat's that bad at getting power from the engine to the snow or are the engines Turds or what ?

I also noticed his light flickered which may indicate poor quality fuel. He was running stage 3 which is 240-260hp on pump gas. He pulled 138mph on his speedo that day so not working too bad.

Well, I wouldn't say my yamacharged apex would destroy an 1100T. I only beat him by about 5 lengths. Sleds have similar HP and I don't think the CAT is much lighter if ligher at all. Maybe Apex makes more torque? 1100t might experince some turbo lag so I get him out of the hole. In my experince this day, an 1100t would take a stock 06 apex by about 5 lengths.
