just my 2cents on stretching the sled out, make yourself some braces for the inside of the tunnel where the ext. mounts to it, I developed stress cracks once I stretched mine out to a 144", also re valve your mega float if you can, I found that it was a nice ride on the trails but as soon as I started riding the sled hard I was bottoming it out bad, I ended up re valving the KYB shock with a big boy spring and I don't regret it
if you spend some time clutching the sled you'll be able to outrun a newer XTX

I was told you need to reposition the mount holes because the longer tracks lead at a different angle. Is this not so?this is an awesome thread! Thanks!
I have to question how well the mono skid works when converted from 121 to 144.
Stress points? Geometry? etc.
I suspect/know the 136 mono has different rear arm parts, mounted in different spots on the rails...
Please report back this winter!!

hey thanks for the suggestion on the ext braces. where did u put yours any pictures? i haven't really heard anything bad about the muffin works cracking just the hartmans that's why i'm asking. . i was going to send out the kyb to hygear but ran into the mega with a deal i couldn't pass up, i wish i had the money to send the fox mega out but after last year i think i will be happy with anything but the old shock i weigh about 220 and bottomed out on everything last year and that caused the front arm the crack the hole left side mount off. and apex55 i looked into that and the people that tried to relocate the rear wheels back like they would have on a attak it just made it worse so i'm just going to try it the way i have it and she how it goes.

Ya i think it will outrun a new xtx, it sure seams to pull really hard. i talked to ulmer in the summer and he set me up with a couple things on clutching and gearing, no clutch kit but i think its good. time will tell, i just need the lake to freeze then i can see if it tops out right on rpms

Keep us posted on how it does. I was looking to extend to a 136 but ran out of funds this year after the y-pipe issues, so I'll be looking into it next year.apex55 i looked into that and the people that tried to relocate the rear wheels back like they would have on a attak it just made it worse so i'm just going to try it the way i have it and she how it goes.

I don't have pics and the sled is still in storage, all I did was take a piece of cardboard to make a template and transferred it onto a piece of steel, the first one will take some time to get it to fit but the other side will be the same, not everyone gets stress cracks but it's always good to beef it up before it happens

Yesterday me and my dad went up to Rangeley to finally get to ride, there is only about 6" here and not enough to get on local trails. We did a 130mile trip, everything went well except one of my dads friends came with his prox and it was overheating the hole morning with outside temp at -15f and a nice 2" of snow that night, we got there at 7 and couldn't really start until 930ish because of the polaris but after we fixed it it (it was air bound, he never burped it after he did a top end) was nice riding the rest of the day. My dads new viper was awesome and the apex was a completely different sled, everything I did fixed all of my problems of last year. I can't wait to ride more he says he wants to go out again this coming Saturday so it should be awesome. The perminent smile is back
