Well to start this is an 06 Apex with around 6300 miles. Two weeks ago the sled just shut down on the trail...read code 84 which I now know is the TORS system. We bypassed that to limp back to the cabin but the sled would not hardly idle. Finally got a chance to look at it a week later (with some warmer temps) and it fired up but idled rough...an improvement. So after some researching I decided to change all 4 plugs. Reconnected the TORS wires so they were not bypassed and fired it up. Ran amazing, took it for a few hot laps around a large field just to make sure all was running well and would stay running...probably ran it for a total of 20 min. then shut it down. Half hour later I went to start it to load it on the trailer and it wouldnt start again, this time no codes? I tried bypassing the TORS again just to be certain but it will still only fire and will start if I crack the throttle, but will die as soon as I let off. I am at a loss at this point and dont have the extra cash to bring it to a dealer.

No ideas? I can't find any information on a problem of this nature... It's 40 degrees here today and still the same. The gas isn't old, but maybe bad?? Could the tps sensor do this w/o throwing a code?

I doubt this is it, but only takes a second to do.
Unhook the Speedo sensor. [There is a plug in the Secondary area. Just chase the wire from the sensor until you find the plug.]
If this cures it you likely have a bad drive shaft bearing.

Ok, I'll give that a shot.
What are the procedures for testing the coils and tps?
I'm also going to drain the gas and fresh in along with a little dry gas.

Well Im still stuck with this....Tried previous mentioned idea. Also pulled the NEW plugs and reinstalled cleaned up, checked all coils and plugs for spark before reinstalling. Drained fuel, added gas line drier and new fuel. Sled fired and instantly died again. Cracked throttle to idle it long enough to warm up engine and it still wouldnt run clean at all below 5 to 6k rpm. Took it for a lap around the field and it runs strong above 6000 rpm but if you let off the throttle it dies. Still NO codes....I am at a loss and ready to trade this piece on a polaris

check your oil level and check the wires where they go around the headlight mounts.

I did check the oil, good on level, looked fairly clean.
I figured out how to check the TPS sensor reading through the diagnostics of the ecm and found a closed reading of 88, open 115. I may be wrong but I thought seeing it should be around 15 closed? I dont have a service manual to check what the spec should be.
I unplugged the TPS sensor and tried starting and low and behold it started right up and fired on all cylinders! Just would slowly start revving higher and higher. Should I replace that sucker? I only ask since I am not sure what the specs should be on it and a new one costs $150+

I checked it out but the ohms readings and directions to check are way too vague or not in order? I'm getting 0.645 ohms closed and 4.95 ohms full open... That's on the two outside pins (blue and black)

Does anyone know the procedure for testing the TPS sensor with a multi meter? I want to make sure Im checking across the correct terminals before spending 150 bucks on a new sensor. Plugged in checking it through the sled display shows a closed reading of 71 as far as I could adjust it and 115 open. Is there anything else that could influence that number?? Or can the display diagnostic be that far off?
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!

That was already suggested didn't seem to change anything unplugging it.
