Really Yamaha? there needs to be more snow for me to see what the new Apex SNOWmobile is all about..
Well thats great news, glad to hear theres snow.sorry about this post earlier..no snow makes me upset in winter.

My bad. I thought that area was in the U.P. Again, my bad. And the topic of low snow/ no snow was brought up, so hardly off topic.

But thanks for the keen observation Bottlerocket! You can be such a swell dude.

Thank you to T&R Yamaha and the Yamaha demo team! I rode an Apex XTX and a Nytro (RTX?). The Apex was the first 4 cylinder I've had an opportunity to ride, and that's one very nice smooth engine. The power steering was not all that noticeable, in a good way. It simply steered like a light sled. It had Woody's Dualies installed but still seemed to dart around just a little.

When I got on the Nytro I really appreciated the Apex's power steering. The trail was getting pretty beat up from all the traffic and it required a lot of steering input. The Nytro is definitely better for standing up than sitting down. I would still like to ride one off trail sometime.

Riding home on my old '06 Vector, with Deuce bars, I had no darting at all, although I kind of missed the DBII seating position. I think the 3 cylinder engine suits my riding style better, or maybe I'm just very used to it. So if Yamaha corporate is listening, I want a Vector LTX with power steering. Maybe next year?

It was nice to meet Poleclimber too.

Was nice to actually be able to ride the demo sleds for more then a 5 minute jaunt. Got a good 45 mins or so on the new iron. The new Apex steering is very light. From a aggressive rider stand point. I am not sure I like it. It takes away the feedback you typically get from a standard steering system. From a groomed trail perspective the sled is amazing!

I have been dying to spend some time on a Nytro. It was VERY twitchy. But much more aggressive feeling compared to the Apex. I would love to put some serious miles on one, but would need to put a lot more wind protection on first.

I must say I was disappointed in the event. I thought the Yamaha staff did a horrible job at the event. No one once talked to us about the sleds or were even remotely interested in what we thought. It was simply get on the sled, ride, get off, and goodbye. Too bad, you would think this would be a great time to connect with current and potential customers. Maybe even for the dealer to sell some sleds.

Ok first of all thanks for attending the event.....second sorry you feel that no one paid attention to you. This actually bothers me that you say that because i know personally i talked to at least 20 people about the ride and i don't even work at the dealer. My father in law owns it, i just hang around and help out but i know for certain thats all he and his partner did all day was talk to people, not to mention the 3 guys who where running the demo. There might have been a few times we were busy trying to keep descent carbides on the skis and fuel in the sleds. Changing 16 sets of carbides in between rides is a bit of a challenge. If we didn't change them then people would complain about that too.

Again sorry you feel the way you do and thanks again for coming to our event.

Thanks John
