I can't believe how bad Yammie is gouging Canadians vs the U.S..

Lets compare an 06 Attak to an 05 Warrior

In the U.S. the Attak is $10,400 in Cdn it's $14,200 or 36% more the exchange rate has been about 1.25 recently which means that Yammie is charging us about 11% more plus we only get $750 CDN Yammie Bucks($600 U.S.) vs. $800. meaning we pay about 15% more than we should, or close to $2,000 C$.

Were it gets really interesting is when you look at the U.S. Dollar and C$ vs the Japaneese Yen over the past year.

The US Dollar has remained realitvely static with the Jap Yen at about 105-106 to the dollar.

However the C$ has appreciated so you now get about 84.7 Jap yen for every C$ vs about 79.4 jap yen for every C$ a year ago.

Last year Yammie was charging $13,200 for the Warrior in CDN. This year an ATTAK(Comparable except for the Fuel Injection) is $14,200. In C$ that is an increase of 7.6% and in Jap yen an increase of about 15%.

The U.S. price increased by about 8.33% and about the same in Japaneese Yen.

In effect Yamaha decided to charge us 15% extra and the U.S. 8.33% extra. With the Change in the Japaneese Yen the Attak should be only about $13,400 CDN less $800 U.S. for $12,400 which in U.S. is about $9,900 much closer to the $9,600 U.S. you pay in the States after Yammiebucks.

I wonder if Yammie CDN will honor the warranty of a sled bought in the States?

Your preaching to the choir on this one. I already know EXACTLY where you are coming from and I agree 100%.

I am sure that you warranty is transferable BUT...will the dealers honour it?

PS...talk to some of the dealers and you should be able to get the price down by at least $1000 for a Apex GT. That's what I have found.

Yea sure they charge you 2000 to give 1000 back what a deal. It is a sham and Yamaha should be embarrassed. Morrisond send your data to the Better Business
Brueau there should be some branch of our govt that will look into also.

I thought all you Canadians get gouged. I hope you make more money than us, 'cause it sounds like the cost of living is greater there.

Canadian prices are plus 15% tax. As I said in earlier post Yamaha Canada does not give a crap. If I buy new this year it will definately be in the States.

Still have to pay GST, no lemon laws here, and they won't honour an American sled warrenty here. I think its time for a revolution here in this country.LOL

I coulda saved $2000-$2500 buying an 05 Rage, RX-1 or Vector by driving 1 hour south at local US dealer.
