haha, thanks! Those are just the ones that fit in my garage. They are both my personal boats, but this isn't the correct forum to talk about those much. The other half of my correct craft collection is stored elsewhere

Ya those compression numbers are CRAP, you wont find anyone with 230lbs Mine runs and starts strong at 175 all cyl cold test, Ran similar post 2yrs ago and no-one had nothing close to 230lbs.Manual states standard compression pressure at sea level should be 206 psi, minimum 179 psi to max. of 230 psi after the engine has ran for several minutes. Obviously the readings will be lower on a cold engine. So recheck compression with a good compression gauge. Difference between cylinders should not exceed 14 psi.
When you did the compression test did you hold the slides up. It makes a big difference for the better. I just lift the slide with a finger.
Your sled should have the good rings so I would be very surprised if you need a ring job at the mileage you are at. I would just start using Seafoam in the fuel and ride it. Don't change the oil at this point if it looks clean. The oil will turn black very fast if the rings are bad and you will see the oil level drop quickly. I have an 03 RX1 and the rings were bad from the start. There was a bulletin from Yamaha which required the dealer to start up and do a sort of break in as a predelivery service. My sled used about a quart of oil every 800 miles and seemed a bit slow. The oil blackened by that point but I didn't worry and just rode it. When it turned 12000 miles I decided to rering it. This was last season. The old ring end gaps were within spec so I thought I had made a mistake. Low and behold I didn't use a drop of oil in the 600 or so miles I rode last year. The oil has stayed a beautiful honey color and I picked up 300 rpm with the clutching I have been running.

So, I got my compression gauge 10mm adapter in the mail today, low and behold, 180-185 in all cylinders. I'm a bit happier now, ha. Glad it turned out to be the gauge. My gauge seemed to be accurate in my boats.
I did buy some ring free, so I'll run that, stabil, and seafoam, depending on what I have in stock.
I still think it would be a good decision to change the crankcase oil, replace the brake pad, and get my belt within spec. It needs a shim, as it rides too low currently

Just talked with my Yamaha dealer here and you don't need a fuel shut off valve for summer storage. You just need to remove the pulse hoses from the fuel pumps and let sled run dry. The fuel pumps are pulse pumps so fuel won't go to carbs. Will be doing with sons sled next year.
