Nope. Polaris hasnt had any problems like that with the Fusion. All that I heard bad about that sled was vibration, poor performance, poor fuel economy and blowing belts.impalapower said:yamadoo said:I think an adjustable steering column and bars would be nice.
Didn't Polaris do this with the Fusion and had trouble? Maybe Yamaha doesn't want to go that route.

1.) Remote start - it would be nice to be standing in your living room and just fire up your sled with a remote control. Then, while your sled is warming up you could put on your riding gear and then walk outside, hop on your sled and drive off.
2.) Reposition the key. I dont like it in it's current location under the right handlebar. Sometimes it help to give the sled a quick little blip of the throttle when starting it cold. You cant really do that if you are sitting on the sled.
3.) If Yamaha still makes carbed sleds for '07, get rid of the choke under the left handlebar. I might be old school, but I like the choke much better where it used to be. Im not a bike guy so for me the choke lever as it currently is feels very awkward.
4.) I want my sled to say "hello" every time I fire it up. Yamaha should give the sled the voice of a cute Japanese girl and make it say, "Moshi moshi" every time you fire it up!
5.) Give us a rear suspension that can be pushed to it's limits without breaking. I think its unacceptable that Yamaha can be so far ahead on engine technology and comfort/ergonomics yet they cant make a durable rear suspension.
6.) Give us 2 different fuel/timing maps. Yamaha could make a switch that has 2 settings. One could set up the EFI and ignition timing for maximum fuel economy and the other could set it up for maximum performance.
7.) Variable valve timing. This would greatly improve fuel economy. Its been proven in the automotive industry and with Yamaha's partnership with Toyota Im sure they could make it happen.
8.) Adjustable windshields. Yamaha has it on the bikes, no reason they cant adapt it to the sleds.
Thats about all Ive got for now folks, Im sure other ideas will come to me over the course of the summer.

I like the idea of having differant FI set ups......The stock motors could make a little more power if you could switch to a premium fuel setting.....And as always....there is no substitute for displacement...like how about a 1200cc motor making 180 hp and keep the weight down with a bunch of titanium parts
And yes I'll pay a premium for it

I think you will see 180 in the near future, when they put the turbo on it.

I'm not on a Yami (yet!) -- decided to ride my 8900 mile '03 F7 for another year -- but here's my one-item wish list for the '07 Yamis anyway. BTW, shouldn't cost Yam or their customers a single cent more:
***AN ACCURATE SPEEDOMETER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!***
None of this 15 - 19% reading high nonsense. When the speedo says 50mph, the sled should be moving 50mph. When the speedo says 100mph the sled should be moving 100mph. When the speedo says... well, I'm SURE you get the idea. This is NOT rocket science Yamaha!!! -- Roy

No offense Roy, but Yamaha isnt the only one with inaccurate gauges. All of the manufacturers gauges are off.RoyT said:I'm not on a Yami (yet!) -- decided to ride my 8900 mile '03 F7 for another year -- but here's my one-item wish list for the '07 Yamis anyway. Even in the auto industry there is a tolorance of 7 mph that the speedo can read high or low and still not be considered to be inaccurate.
I ask you Roy, is having a speedo that is dead-on accurate THAT big of a deal or are these sleds so close to being perfect that we cant find anything better to complain about?

Well, we're not talking about other manufacterers or autos on this particular thread, we're talking about Yamaha's -- specifically, wish lists for '07 Yamahas. I think my wish is a VERY legitimate one as might be verified by some of the pasts threads I've seen here on this very topic.
If Yami isn't going to provide and accurate speedo, or worse yet, purposely make it read a certain percentage high, then I say leave the dang thing off in the first place and save a few pounds and a few dollars!
FYI, the newer F-cat speedos have consistantly been either right on, or within 1-2% of radar and/or GPS readings.
Cap'n, you know anything about Toyotas? I'm thinking about a new or used (if I can even FIND a used one) Highlander. Any feedback or comments on that model? PM me if you like. Thanks! -- Roy

You must have one of the few good ones then. Everyone who has an F-Cat on HCS has at least a 10 mph difference from what the speedo says to what their GPS says.RoyT said:FYI, the newer F-cat speedos have consistantly been either right on, or within 1-2% of radar and/or GPS readings.
You cant just not put a speedo on the sled. There are many areas where you have a certain speed limit.
Where I ride, I have to go through about 5 miles of residential area in order to get through the trail. Snowmobile traffic is tolorated but you must keep it under 25 mph. It also may not be long before ALL trails have a speed limit (50 mph has been proposed in Wisconsin).

LOL... with all due respect, you and I must be reading two completely different HCS F-Cat forums!Captain_Toyota said:You must have one of the few good ones then. I agree with you 100% on the need for a speedometer to abide by speed limits where posted. So Yamaha... WHY NOT MAKE THE SILLY THING AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE?!?!?!? -- ROY
