YAMAHA: our 07 Apex/Attak wish list


Shock options would be nice or if they don't want to go with the dealer install route, just offer a limited production Attak GT as well. I will second putting the watercraft motor in. I mentioned that over a year ago when Yam came out with their FX HO jet ski. It is bored out to 1052 cc but turns the same rpm as the 998 cc that we all know. In my family we have both the FX 140 and FX HO at 160 hp. The HO motor pulls considerably harder than our 140 hp FX 140. When Yam released the new Apex motor I was baffled why they did not use the 1052cc motor. My only guess is they wanted room to improve to get everyone to trade in so I won't be surprised if we see it for 07 or 08 at the latest.
 
The FX HO watercraft motor would be a good start. I would also like to see a bigger diameter secondary with some refinements on the cam/button contact (replace it with a roller setup). A look into the primary for some refinements to harnessing the torque down low that the 4-stroke produces would be a nice thing as well. More color options and the ability to pick and choose shock packages would be nice as well. Possibly a low cost option as well (low cost on graphics, basic shocks, etc) for those looking to modify it as soon as they buy it.
 
Maybe one reason they did not put the HO motor in was to get rid of their 998 cc motor supply. Both the 998 and 1052 motors are fuel injected in the watercraft already. Other than the displacement they are identical so there is virtually no cost difference between the two. Maybe 07 could be a reality for 160 hp out of the box?? :Rockon:
 
Heres another item for the wishlist: w-arms that dont crack and break.
I think its high time that Yamaha put this issue to rest.
I hope that the '06s dont have the same w-arm problems that some of the '05s had but as it stands right now its still one of the few negative points of an otherwise awsome sled.

Im waiting to see part 3 of Johnny Skeptical. Remember Bunny said in part 2 that next time she would have to bring her 10 sisters with her and just happened to mention that they were all really pretty and that in fact she was the ugly duckling of the family.
If it ever happens, it should be interesting. ;)!

Maybe the sisters might need some TY members to snuggle with at the cabin.
