Ever wonder if you could talk to the right person in Yamaha, who would they recommend to tune your sidewinder. I would think they have a preferred tuner in mind.

My guess is the YamaCat lawyers already had a heart attack when engineering/marketing told them we were going to sell a 200 HP stock sled! I think they would not suggest/recommend/advise for someone to take a 200 HP sled and modify it to 300 HP! While the marketing/sales guys might chuckle at the thought of tuning a sled up from 200 HP to 240- 260- ???? I think the lawyers probably cringe. They're thinking how long will it be before somebody sues Yamaha (or Cat) claiming their sled went so fast they became airborne, etc? (Some of us can remember 1993 when the Thundercat first came out and guys were flying them over backwards on lakes due to wrong aerodynamics). I bet today, the lawyers are nervous.Ever wonder if you could talk to the right person in Yamaha, who would they recommend to tune your sidewinder. I would think they have a preferred tuner in mind.

A preferred tuner in mind? Not! Stock is what they like.

I wouldn't listen to their recommendations. After all, they were the ones that chose that POS MPI kit for the Vipers. I hated that thing.

I wasn’t going to say anything but....
I think Yamaha are glad that just a simple tune can add up to extra 100hp to the Sidewinder.
Just think about what Chris Burandt has done for Polaris. And none of his sleds are stock. He and his modded sled are one big reason people buy Polaris sleds.
BRP, look at all the ambassadors they have and the modded sleds.
Arctic Cat, the black cats. Speedwerx every year install turbos on two band new M8000 for Dave and Rod.
This is Yamaha edge. It’s impossible for any 2 stroke engine to make this kind of power reliability. The aftermarket world plays a big part in sled sales.
