You could've seen another person or rider pretty easy there, unless they were laying on the trail. I hear ya though, because you never know, and just when you let your guard down and least expect it, wham!
He would have had to try for the side trail or take a standing tree IF it were a person.It wasnt and he did right thing.Straight on.Man that was lucky!

There were all sorts of tracks going around it, so why didn't anyone remove it or mark it with a branch or something. That would upset me! I always pick up big rocks, and things that are un-safe or will ruin the next guys sled.

I noticed that the left ski went a bit sideways and over and the other right over. Very lucky they didn't go under instead. I have seen that with skis going in holes or drifts. Not fun!

always leery about going that fast after a big wind. i have seen a 30 min ride to camp take 3 hours because of windfalls.

It was scary watching it before the tree. It looks like you were driving too fast for conditions. Those trees on each side of the trail don't move.

The problem here is nobody stopped to move that tree to begin with,you can't always rely on the clubs/volunteers.As riders we also have responsibiltys to other riders that will follow in our tracks so next time instead of riding over stuff if you can take the time to try and remove trail junk to prevent injury to yourself your machine and other sledders,I am sure it would be appreciated and you might even feel better about doing it, you might just save someones life! example: "picture if you came across that same scenario at night"

good to see all is good..the sled is tuff..ask all the trees I have hit..lol..notice the rear end of the sled went up and forward after I hit..good momentum..lol...all was good..ok we cut the tree with my saw..I look like this cause I didnt look at the front yet..lol.
