I just purchased a used sled that has Yamaheater installed. I want to make sure I'm using these correctly, what's the correct process for using them? Are they always on? Can I just use the stock grip heaters and switch the yamaheater on when I need it? What's the small flip switch for? I read the LED changes color depending on supplied heat to the grips?
Real world use instructions would be helpful, thanks fellas
(I emailed the Yamaheater guys, just haven't heard back yet)

PM Rockmeister, he can probably send you the actual instructions. But, basically, turn flip switch on, and adjust heaters to off (red led should come on) and they are on full power. Adjust heaters to any other position (Led should be green now) and they are back on yamaha supplied power. Thats it.

So it's all or nothing in terms of using the actual Yamaheater? Any negatives to just always leaving the little switch flipped on?

The only disadvantage is that you can't turn off your hand warmers completely, unless you turn that toggle off.

I just asked this same question on pg 75-76, you can read those or the instructions found on the first page here.
They work great and just like HRD2PLZ mentioned.

My switch is always on. No probs. Yeah, all or nothing but...if you look at it like this....use the yamaha heaters for all applications if full power isn't needed and when your hands get cold just adjust to off positon and your good to go. No real disadvantage to me IMO. Unless I'm spring riding my yamaheater is almost always powered up, and most of the time it allows me to wear thinner gloves and the ability to really feel the bars and get to the brake quicker. Just my opinion.

Good to know, thanks.

The switch is on to allow the yamaheater to work shut it off and it kills the unit from ever working. Typically you leave this ON
To activate the unit click your hand warmer all the way off till the LED lights up, then you will be getting full power to the grips and they will get hot, once they are too hot click the handwarmers back up to stock levels on the bar in the display. Repeat the process to stay comfortable. Or if you have ninny hands like me I left them on full hot all the time!
