Its more like 2,200 for the Apex. Clutch kit you need either way to take advantage of the extra ponies.
Unfortunatly for the RX its 2200 plus an air box plus a fuel pump and pressure regulator. So for the RX it is 3,000 bucks.
The Apex gets a better deal.
The only down side is having to burn premium. Can be hard to come by when touring! Could carry a few cans of 104 octane boost.

I would not worry about the premium. You would probably be fine with 87 but i would just be a little easy on it with 87 just for a margin of safety. kviper

I gather you are happy with the G-Force clutching as you have it listed in your Sig.

It was a bit of testing and tunning but got it figured out on the torque side and it works good on the rev side to but I like the torque side better.

I had it running on 91 all winter but every ride I took I needed gas on the trail and used 87 with a little of octane boost and run it WOT with no problem you just need to let go the trottle ones and a will like at 3/4 and back WOT. Perry

You gotta explain the dyno numbers, one was 172 and the other was 192.

The 172 was with a stock Apex with the yamcharger, and the 192 is with a Apex that has some mods like head work..and the yamcharger. Perry

another thought for you guys
I'm wondering why no one has increased the rev limiter to 11500 and thus increased the output of the impeller? If we could keep it as 11500 we'd surely see a little more H.p. and the motor can take this all day long?
So here is my plan if I keep my PEX Mnt. I will do the PC3, Ignition, Excell header, porting, shave twenty thousands from the head, add the intake cam, increase rev limiter to 11500, Yama Charger and watch me get 195 H.P. .....starting to get excited about this......wooohoo.
When I compare my sleds 150H.P. to a Skidoo it's just feels so much stronger......I can't wait to feel a 190 H.P. from an almost NA Yamaha.......I think it will spank everyone short of boost.

That was 200hp on a track dyno! where as the Gilles Dyno video was from the crank.

Re: another thought for you guys
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I understand it is that the factory-set, max RPM, combined with the current-version Yamacharger takes the ECU and fuel injection to its max capability. If you extend max RPM, or ramp up the blower RPM/boost in any way, the system will not be able to compensate for it and go lean. That's supposedly the selling point is that it gives you 20hp more on the "stock" sysyem without having to do all the other mods like fuel controllers and such. So, if you want anything more than what is offered with the Yamacharger then you might as well go with a full super or turbocharger system for $5500+++.
To make this a nice and compact system that yields more, all they need to do is put a planetary gear-drive in it to ramp up the charger RPM/boost and supply a modified system controller. Not what their target market is though....

I had mine up past 1100rpm and I have a boost gauge it won't give you anymore then 2psi.That is because the yamcharger fan is design to give it's max at a lower rpm so even if you give it more rpm it wont give you anymore at a higher rpm. Perry...

YUP ..well said....Have not been on here in awhile ...Interesting 1st post..BUT wrong..The dealer that told you the "bang for buck" thing is wrong..I would LOVE to hear his HP for buck plan...As of the system - i drove the sh.t out of my sled all season..Had stuff sent to me from G-Force that they changed on it (at there dime) and all was good..From a stock sled you WILL get the 20 and if playing with more toys you WILL get some more..I have did the bigger boost systems before and aim not in to it after this..Add alittle zip and RIDE.. G-Force HAS changed what the average trail guy can do !! And when the dyno runs go you want the "torque" to be put to the "track" and THEN see the results ...IMO this product works ...And i would LOVE to see the dealers plan to make the same amount of HP for the same coin.........................cheershelmic said:I had mine up past 1100rpm and I have a boost gauge it won't give you anymore then 2psi.That is because the yamcharger fan is design to give it's max at a lower rpm so even if you give it more rpm it wont give you anymore at a higher rpm. With stock timing and moving up the rev limiter you will make some more hp gain to 11,000 then it holds to about 11,200 and starts to fall off. We will be adding some timing next fall but it sounds like it will push peak hp up some more and do it at a little more rpm. I would not bump compression as increasing compression with boost is a bad thing (detonation) or will require better than pump fuel. Porting and cam's have not shown to be worth the coast. I would have to see 200 crank hp from cam's, porting, and Yam-Charger to believe it. My sled gained a solid 20 hp with just the Yam-Charger, I also have the PC-111, Ignition mod with rev extenz, Air fuel with the LCD touch screen, About $1,400 worth. I think the 24 hp total gain will be where we end up at and that is about what Allan Ulmer came up with. With bumping the rpm to 11,000 the stock fuel system kept up at 13/1 AFR. kviper
