A few questions on the YES ext. warranty-
1)What should one expect to pay for a 4 year YES warranty on an Apex?
2) Can it be done under the $800 acc. deal?
3) Are any of you getting it?
4)And last, does a YES warranty for a sled need to be purchased from a dealer who sells snowmobiles, or can any Yamaha dealer sell it?

On point number four, you can buy from Yamaha. On the others, try these threads.

Warranty cost-what the #@#!
Checked with a couple dealers on sled pricing and the 48 month YES, one dealer says $500, one says $1000-couldn't believe the difference between the two!!

I wouldn't get it. If you don't have problems under warranty, its not going to be a problem sled. Save your money.

xcsp, The YES warranty can be purchased anytime within one year from the date you buy your sled. You do not need to buy it at the time you purchase it. I usually wait, that way if you decide to buy a new sled, and get rid of the old one, you have less money in it.
Warranty
Well, I have some decent prices on the YES, so I most likely will get it when I buy the sled. I don't expect any problems with the machine, but it's like insurance-most likely if you have it, you won't use it, but if you don't have it, you're going to wish you had it someday. Besides, I do plan on keeping the sled for quite some time.
Also, I have a Yamaha FJR 1300 cycle and just after the 1 yr. warranty was up, the bike needed to go in for surgery-replaced the valves and guides for some unknown reason the bike was ticking like a Timex with only 6500 miles, valve guides were wearing prematurely-with out the YES, I would have had to fight to get it covered, and if I had to pay out of my pocket, it would have run about $2000 for the repair-the warranty has already paid for itself in this instance.
