I also have a thread going on this in the aftermarket suspension section. Sorry for double posting but I am desperate for help on this issue. Has anyone installed a zx2 skid into a 03 rx1 or any rx1 for that matter. They are all the same. I am in the process of doing it now and I have a serious issue. It's an 03 rx1, 136" x 1.75" lug track with 7.125" drivers, 2.58 pitch. All measured out with the correct measurements the rear mounting hole for the skid lands on the bend where the tunnel meets the foot board. The verticle drop measurements for the rear mount is measured from the lowest clearence point in the tunnel. This is to make clearance for the exhaust and tunnel protectors. The only way I can see to make the room I need is to go to a smaller lug track and I don't want to do that. Other option would be to remove the tunnel protectors but that would only give me 3/4" which is borderline enough and thats with the minimum clearance of 1/4" to the exhaust. The rx1 tunnel is the same as the apex so someone must have run into this problem before. I have tried to contact AD Boivin for a solution but I can't get anyone there to pick up the phone. Any help would be appreciated.

When I put the Expert-X in my RX1 I dropped the rear mount point lower so there was more clearence. Are you taking your front dimension from the center of the drive axle. That is where I had to. Just a thought.

It is thr rear mount points. I was thinking about dropping the mount points about an inch and using the factory rx1 rear drop bracket for the mount points and adjusting the other measurements accordingly. All that would do, I think, would set my sled a bit higher.

I left the front alone and just dropped the back. It works great. I like having the rear of the sled higher because of deep powder so it was good. Put a little more weight up front but I need that anyway.

Yeah thats what I think I will do also. I can reposition the rear stock drop brackets and use them. I have a laith so I can turn down the adapter bushings the required amount. What did you use for drop brackets. Thanks for the info.

The expert-x mounts different. It was still up in the tunnel when I lowered it.

I run a M10 in my 03/Warrior, last season I lowered my rear brackets also, It did add a little more ski pressure, which I was hoping for.

Well I have it done. I was a pain in th #*$&@ but it is in and looks good. I am very happy with the instal and it will be way stronger than if I would have went with the instal kit. I am glad that I never spent the $300 in the kit because I wouldn't have used it. I will load some pictures today of the install, just in case someone else has these problems in the future. It sure raises the sled though. All I have to do now is figure out is how to adjust it.
