I posted over in the Phazer section with no response. I am looking to install a zx2 into my Phazer. Have anyone done this before? I would like your input. Also, I want to upgrade the front shocks, any recommendations? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you. I was looking at this, but for $3,300.00, I am thinking I could have teh ZX2 along with high shocks upfront and never have to worried about breaking the H arms or anything else.

I hear ya, thats a **** load to spend on just shocks, they also sell non adjustable kids for a LOT less, I just rememberd this though

FOX FLOAT X EVOL FRONT SNOWMOBILE SHOCKS YAMAHA PHAZER - This is the second time they've been put on there (I was going to try and fit them in my Nytro but they claim they wont fit)

These are nice because you can adjust the sag with the secondary chamber, that way you can lower it out and reduce that inside ski lift. Or you an fill it all the way up and use it for boondocking. You might even be able to work out a custom valving deal since it appears to be from a dealer.

EZ-RYDE sells skids for your tunel width as well

it is probably more expensive and not as easy to tune as the ZX, I've heard the ZX can take something like 4 hours to install. EZ ryde you could install that yourself more than likely so you could figure installation into your costs.

Good luck

Thank you!

I had a fellow TY'er call me on this and is putting together a brand new set of Ohlins to test. I will report back as to how I like them in a few weeks. I appreciate all of your feedback. I am also going to put in the zx2 skid, but that might have to wait until next year.

I look forward to hearing about how the Ohlins work out, I'm interested in them myself but really holding off because of the cost.

Supposedly they are really difficult to dial in because of the wide variety of options. I also thought that the ZX2 might use a shock upgrade but haven heard of anyone trying it.

Dana Dana Dana........I KNEW you were lurking around here!!!

Much like doing anything "aftermarket" or even OEM stuff. Gonna have to invest time to get it dialed in....especially with the ZX2 or Expert, as you well know. You will be AMAZED at the difference just basic shock rebuild and appropriate re-valve of the shock works. Not to mention maybe swapping out the shock spring.

I suggest giving Ross from HyGear Suspensions a call to discuss what you are looking for and the options available. They are out of Ithaca, NY area.

Shoot Viperman a PM. He has done a few upgrades (Hygear, I think) to his Phazer skid, and rides it pretty good and hits it pretty hard.

I am ahead of you buddy. I talked with Hy-gear and for $3,000.00+ they could give me highend shocks all the way around and I would still have the same old skid. For about the same money or maybe less, I can put the ZX2 in and get some very nice piggyback shocks for the front. I just can't settle for less than the Bovin products. Front shocks go on this week and the skid probably over the summer. Now, if we just had some snow.

Ohlins PDS

I just got back from a 250 mile ride in Pittsburgh, NH last weekend. The new front Ohlins PDS shocks are amazing! One of the best mods I have ever done. I was one of the first people to try these and I loved them. I was actually looking for bumps to hit. I will post pics after this weekends ride and information on what I have and who I purchased them from. The sled was very comliant and predictable. Instead of pogoing off the bumps, it sucked them up and kept the front end very stable and quiet. Looking forward to getting out again, it was that fun.
