High intake temps when mountain riding!!

Clutching DTAY1 fully loaded with weight, dalton black green primary, 40 degree helix and dalton black tan spring. This combo pulls 8700rpm and 19.6 boost. I switch to a 37/35 helix in deeper heavy snow. Max belt temp has been 140 degrees. Zero belt slip, might step it up to a 44 degree helix.

High intake temps when mountain riding!!

I see a 10-20 degree rise now after a long climb where before i was seeing 40-60 rise. horsepower remains consistent now. 82 mph track speed takes some big power this i know for a fact. Next is a fan which should drop temps even more.

I ordered venting kit, it has not arrived yet. The intercooler was 100%the fix for my power loss I had.

High intake temps when mountain riding!!

Did more testing yesterday. the air was colder so this time i was only showing a 3 degree rise in intake temps after a hill climb! 53 at bottom and 56 57 at the top. Before intercooler i would of been over 100 degrees!!

High intake temps when mountain riding!!

Well the intercooler is worth it's weight in gold if you want to make big power in the mountains!! The intercooler dropped my wot intake temps from 125 on a moderate climb to 82 degrees now! Zero power fade. This or any additional intercooler is a MUST on these bigger tunes. I also added a...

High intake temps when mountain riding!!

Got the hurricane secondary intercooler installed today. Not the easiest job. Intercooler fits good it's just very tight around steering shaft. Testing tomorrow. Very curious to see how much cooler my intake temps are now climbing hills. I also installed the spring and bracket on the waistgate...

Mountain riding Dalton vs supertip vs thunder products vs stock lr.

My turbo 9r has 250hp, i hold it pinned for 20-30 seconds at a time in the deep for hrs and i am still on the factory belt. The belt is never to hot to hold onto. Heat is what kills these belts.

Scrub belt in hot soap water first, make sure to give it 20 easy break in miles. Try floating your secondary, you shouldn't be breaking belts.

    Hurricane secondary intercooler

wow this is the intercooler set up i need, How much difference did you see when you installed the secondary cooler? i am fighting high intake temps on my 300 header tune. I was going to install a fan but this looks trick. What did you use for material for the shroud?

High intake temps when mountain riding!!

Hurricane built a very smooth 300header tune for sure, Makes huge power on top end. I would like to see a dyno on the 275 header tune vs the manifold tune to see the difference in torque. It felt like maybe more mid range grunt on the manifold tune vs header and built boost quicker on manifold...

High intake temps when mountain riding!!

I have ran stock intake and the under hood intake and temps are about the same. It makes more boost and feels stronger on the under hood intake. I tried the 275 flash and it did the same. The intake temps just get super hot, keep in mind in washington we are riding in the 25-35f degree air temp...
