I am a flat land rider but if I was a mountain rider i would install an external out of the hood cold air intake to avoid snow blockage of the intake ect.

Yes, all the mountain guys run them pretty much. I was in snow deep enough on the last trip I was still having issues... had to stop and slap the dong to get the snow off it... But that doesn't happen often its gotta be at least headlight deep for that.I am a flat land rider but if I was a mountain rider i would install an external out of the hood cold air intake to avoid snow blockage of the intake ect.

Like the Mo-flo vent kit for the side panels ? Well that's awesome it cured the high intake temps for you, my last trip out west we dropped into a hole we probably shouldn't have @ 4pm, but it was on the way out haha. I was loosing rpm climbing out of there, intake temps were in the 140 range on the dash, and It was laying soot like a diesel too.I ordered venting kit, it has not arrived yet. The intercooler was 100%the fix for my power loss I had.
I'm still thinking of just going with the straight race intercooler, delete that ice building POS on the nose, I bet there is 20lbs of snow and ice built up there some days
I have the full venting Moflo kit on my SW, since I bought it, for the flatland and can't imagine not having it as it is amazing how much underhood heat these sleds have.

I agree, same kit I'm running as well, I had to reinforce mine with a piece of of aluminum where the secondary is, first time out I cut a hole through the screen and frog skin with the end of the secondary. been awesome sinceI have the full venting Moflo kit on my SW, since I bought it, for the flatland and can't imagine not having it as it is amazing how much underhood heat these sleds have.

I see a 10-20 degree rise now after a long climb where before i was seeing 40-60 rise. horsepower remains consistent now.
82 mph track speed takes some big power this i know for a fact. Next is a fan which should drop temps even more.

Clutching DTAY1 fully loaded with weight, dalton black green primary, 40 degree helix and dalton black tan spring. This combo pulls 8700rpm and 19.6 boost. I switch to a 37/35 helix in deeper heavy snow. Max belt temp has been 140 degrees. Zero belt slip, might step it up to a 44 degree helix.
