As soon as I saw a pic of it, I knew what it was. It's a kit that was used with a TSB for correcting a snow ingestion problem for the 2007 only. It was done for free at the time as a product improvement and was included with all newer sleds. It also applied to VLs and MPs of the same year.

You probably have the original Tuner skis, which are garbage. Maybe you could get some better carbides for them but for real ability to steer, you would need something like Slydog skis or even the original slyle Yamaha VK wide skis with some good carbides. Maybe others can advise on the carbides.

To check the oil, you don't screw it in. You unscrew it out, wipe it, re-insert it WITHOUT screwing it resting on top of the threads, pull it back out and read level. If you have oil coming out of the tank vent hose, you probably had it on its side and the oil accumulated in the hose. Some...
