    Ripsaw and Studding

Mighty: I ran him 5 or 6 times and beat him everytime, which surprised both of us. Last year I was totally stock except for a Team Industries roller (which was always 4 to 5 sleds faster then a stock RX1) The ZR would alway pull me 2 or 3 sleds in the mid range, out of the hole and top were...

    Ripsaw and Studding

Just a word of advice to all who stud the ripsaw..this thing will stretch alot when new. If you are getting any racheting, stop and tighten. I did'nt and did some rolling start races against my buddys ZR9 and ripped the heat schield completely off (120 1.325 woodys down the middle). I have'nt...

    Are heat shields needed???

I put a new ripsaw (warranty from Yamaha) on my 03 with 120 woodys down the middle. The first time out I noticed bad ratcheting just like last years POS finger. Went in to tighten track and noticed the heat shield was ripped off by the studs. Next day rode 60 miles in the ditches no problems...

Thanks guys for all the input..this is a great site and its because of all of you. I thought I'd give you a little update..went out testing again this afternoon, but this time with another sled (03 ZR 900, stock). We were unable to race from the dead stop because I was racheting so bad, but did...

Turk: Thanks for the reply, sounds like something I'll have to live with if I want to keep the roller. Any other thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Its early yet, lots of time to make changes.

    HH questions

Late last year I bought a set of HH's from Jeff Simon and due to poor snow conditions was unable to try them. We got a couple of inches here last night and I just got back from short bean field ride. The engagement is about 4000 (I was unable to nail it from the start, new ripsaw was racheting)...

    Clutching question

Last year I installed a Team Industries secondary. Had a stock track and 192 studs, no other modifications. Had the HH's in the box but never got them on because of no snow. This set up was 5-6 sleds faster then a stock rx-1 with same amount of studs. Would come out of the hole with or ahead of...

    Proper Clutch alignment. My take.

I agree with JTSSRX, secondary floats to save bearings, and they will self align. Also, I have a 2001 Polaris 600XC, it has float as did my 200 ZR600.
