So now that this thread is going towards something I have had a question about for a long time I figured I would ask it. I weigh 280, I put on 2k miles a year, I jump, boondock, and sidehill with the best of them but my boards don't hold up. My question is which one is stronger? The skinz...
For clarification purposes it's my personal best mod yet! I took Yamahaboy's idea of using the arctic cat tunnel rolls and gussets and then tied it in with a local guy I met who used the ski-doo XP bumper.
Not only does it look WAY better than the HUGE running boards that yamaha so...
I've put an attack 20 162 on mine and an AAEN header and exhaust and worked the kinks out with my clutching. In Island Park we had a 700 dragon 163 with a can (rider weighed about 120lbs)and a 800 rev xp 154 with clutching and a can (rider weighed about 150lbs) and my 09 nytro (I weigh 285...
I'm sure we can make something work out. I'm originally from Idaho but I've come up here to go to USU also. Been in the Valley for about 3 years and know a lot of area but have friends that know even more.
I agree...plus Yamaha has been the only 4 stroke manufacturer in the 4 stroke mountain segment for years! Now that they have some competition we may see what Yamaha can REALLY bring to the table when they have to fight for sales!
It's one for the record books man...Yesterday I went up Franklin basin with 2 pro-rmk's and a 10' m8 and we ran into 3 feet of fresh powder on top of a sick base! Each weekend I keep saying this is the best riding I've ever seen! Here's a picture from the day. You couldn't see where you were...
I think thats an awesome comparison and shows a good representation of yamaha. It's a 4 stroke and it's only 40 lbs heavier then the hcr...for yamaha to be able to bring the weight down that much is an engineering feat. A timbersled suspension will bring down the weight another 20-25 pounds, put...
I've got the clutching stuff figured out now so if you have questions let me know. As for going for a ride.....i totaled my sled last night...
I know what you mean about other nytros, I've never actually seen one when riding up here and I always get funny looks when people see me on mine! Haha
I guess I'm trying to figure out how the gusset ties into the rail stiffeners or running boards. If it rivets into the running board stiffener or if it rivets into the running board itself.
I couldn't ever see how the gussets tied into the running board stiffeners. Do you think you would be able to use the gussets with the stock stiffeners?
Just rode in Afton on Saturday. Riding the trail up there looked like a lost cause then all of the sudden BAM! There was up to 4' in some areas and definitely enough to ride on. When I did that first pow turn I about creamed myself! JK! :)
