09 Tunnel and rail modifications

Thinking about changing the foot rails with after market rails and shortening them up on my 09 mtx. Does anyone have suggestions or photos of what they have done?

i did basically the same thing , it worked great . If i could add one thing i would get a tunnel extension from rat because it turns up like an arctic cat .

That looks great. How did you finish off the tunnel where you cut off the extra running board?

I couldn't ever see how the gussets tied into the running board stiffeners. Do you think you would be able to use the gussets with the stock stiffeners?

Check out the bottom of page 2. Is that what you are talking about? Not sure if they will work with the stock stiffeners.

Running board stiffener (Running board Trim). Looking over this again I think I tried to put the gusset in the stock running board trim and it would not fit so that would require some more modification. Plus like I said in the build the AC running board trim is a lot stronger then the stock Yamaha trim.
