So after a short test run, it seems to be doing better with the tighter secondary spring buuut it is over revving when I punch the throttle while going slow in powder, it's not bad on hardpack but on hills with pow I need to slowly get into the throttle or it just feels like it is slipping and...
The Camoplast "Peak" track is sounding to be pretty killer, it funnels the snow to the center of the track and lifts the sled as it spins. One guy I talked to who has one on his dragon said it's the best track he's ridden, helps you from getting stuck. Checked one out in the shop the other day...
I've had issues on really deep pow days with snow packing on the vent above the cluches then melting and soaking the belt causing it to slip and over rev, Have also noticed this while sidehilling(clutch side up) and carving(clutch side down) in the deep stuff it will pack up by your boot then...
I bought the sled used at 1600 kms and it is at 3000km now. I haven't replaced anything in the clutches since I've owned it and don't know about the previous owner, lets just assume it is all stock.... It's got a purple spring in the secondary, I tightened it up as tight as it would go, from...
Switched over to 18/40 and it's doing much better on short pulls, but on longer hills it bogs out and I have to let off entirely then grip it again to pick it back up but it will bog out again after about 100 feet. Once in 10 pulls at a hill it shifts good and hauls #*$&@ but even when it's on a...
3" lugs will rub, you need to relocate the front cooler to fit the 3".
I just finished putting a 174x16x2.5 on my nytro and it is amazing, even doubling it stays right up on top... you will need to change out you rear drop brackets or modify the stockers and grind down some rivets and bolt...
Just swapped my 2008 Nytro to a CE 174x16x2.5 from stock 153, the only performace mod I've done so far has been a Hindle slip on exhaust. And as I had figured, she don't quite turn on like she used to! So turbo aside(planning on saving for one next season) I want to get atleast a bit more power...
I just picked up the yamaha after market plate, just wondering if anyone has any actual photos of the ice build up? I want to address the issue before I have issues, everything will work good with a little modify'n.
I just finished chopping the back of my '08, since I went with after market boards at the same time, I flipped and modified my stock running boards' supports into tunnel reinforcements. I know a guy that chopped his the same as mine but didn't reinceforce it at all and kinked the dovetail after...
I used 10 Gauge wire but would imagine 12 would work aswell.
Haven't hit the button after it's running, it would probably just make a grinding sound like in a car but not gunna test that out, those starter buttons have a pretty strong spring in them, you'd have to bump it pretty hard to make...
I've had this same problem since I bought my sled(used)... but since there's no deealership a snowmobiler must find a way, here is what I've done with mine
Get a starter button from the local Napa/Lordco, make sure it comes with a rubber button cover. They are less than $20, then wire it...
Right on thanks for the info guys! It's a major relief now knowing the 2.5 will fit without cooler mods. I'm thinking I'm going to order some Nytro drop brackets from CR Racing tomorrow, all depending if they are built to get a 16 wide in there... anyone got a set of these brackets?
Has anyone out there switched over to a 16" wide track on the stock '08 tunnel? I thought I've heard of this being done, just curious about what all is needed to have it fit properly? I tried searching the forum but can't find anything very detailed about doing the sawp. also, it is a 2.5 lug...
