Do you know what RPM the Z was running at. My cousin got an O6 Z and he had to chnge the clutch setting as his was overreving. The Mach Z needs to turn 7850 to be 170 horse. If it runs a couple hundred RPM over that it loses 20-30 HP. I hope my GT is as fast as his Z. I haven't had a chance...
I am 295 before gear and am still waiting for the stiff spring for my GT. I had my dealer call Yamaha to see how much longer. They told him that the GT spring should be at the warehouse on 11/30. I hope my dealer gets it soon after that.
The spring info I got from the Yamaha Technical Update Manual. I have the preload as high as it is supposed to go and had someone that weighed about 250 sit on it. The preload was about right then. I go about 295 with out gear on so the stock spring isn't even close for me. I am still...
The way to get the correct preload on the rear is:
1. Raise the back of the sled and measure the length of the spring.
2. Sit on the sled with riding gear on and have someone measure the spring length.
3. The spring should compress 40-45mm.
