I think one of the better ones I have done and one of the most favorite state trails is the Soumi. North of Grand Rapids MN it is super tight and up and down, but it is only groomed once a week at the most and since it is only one grummer wide it gets rough pretty quick.
Finally got the skid in correctly and found that I will have to trim the rail when I compressed the suspension with the torsion spring not attached the rail tip was in the drive wheel. So I ordered up an anti stab kit from Wahl bros, good thing I live in the same state they do and it should be...
Took apart the skid again to change out a bogie wheel and found out why the rear suspension mount arm was near strait. I installed the rear shock backwards and the shock body was contacting the mount and not allowing the suspension to open up more. Now that I put the shock in correctly it...
on mine the previous owner hit a rock on the main frame and snapped the bottom bolt of the chain case cover and it started leaking there just put a new bolt in and it was fine.
I found the same thing when pulling the skid. 2 missing bolts one on the H one of the missing bolts was replaced by a carriage bolt and no bushing by the po. Also bent aluminum cross shaft in the front and a flatted wheel, and a bunch of loose lock nuts.
yea my dad took out the rear axle and filed a tad bit off the adjuster slot and now the tension is alot better and the rear mount arm is in the correct spot.
I never took apart the splied part. Here is how it sits the rear bar is a little bit off resting on the blocks when sitting on the ground
I was just wondering if this is put together correctly. the shock body is within a 1/4" of hitting the track, I might have put the bottom of the linkage...
it sags 0" I think it is so tight that it is holding the suspension compressed. It worked just fine on the exact same track before. I had my skid apart, is there any way to put it together wrong and get it to go in but be too tight. I do see I put my rear shock in upside down but that should...
Ok I just got done installing my new stock replacement 144" track in my FX with Tracks USA rail extension. I also put new anti Ratchet 9 tooth to replace the stock 9 tooth. The problem is the adjusters are loosened all the way up and the track is pretty dang tight we had to pull the rear...
You can get bare bone Polaris' for pretty cheap. http://www.polarisindustries.com/en-us/ ... omize.aspx
I don't see why everyone thinks they need to buy brand new snowmobiles to get started around here there are still a lot of great sleds with a couple thousand miles on them for under 3g's...
I don't think so. You should try getting into Jeeping I have about 15g's in my $3000 Jeep. The trails are crazy busy here in MN on the weekends.
Why does insurance cost so much we don't even need it in MN.
well I am not sure what yours looks like but when I would have a seized busing on my control arm on my Jeep I had to cut both sides of the bolt off so I could get the arm off and drive the bushing out of the rubber. On a small bushing in the snowmobile I would think the only way to get it out...
