interesting though.. is that the skid in the 88 Yamaha Phazer I had way back when looked almost identical to the SC-10 in my brothers 2000 Doo. The SC-10 was the starting point to what we now know as the SC-4. Then Yamaha decided to go to the Proaction after which was a big mistake. I don't get...
I had a 08 Nytro last winter and dumped it only because of the front frame. I bought an 08 800R Doo.. What a peice of #*$&@ it was.. break downs... and drank oil and gas.. rough rear skid... too expensive to operate with the way it drank oil and gas.. I got maybe 10mpg.. ran out of gas several...
Heres one I did all by hand a few years ago.. I used wet sanding paper too.. Yep a little at a time method works best. I tried the powerball and didn't like the results. I heard theres a product out now called Busch Aluminum polish thats supposed to cut the time down a lot and make a nice shine.
Just wait till oil jumps back up and the canadian dollar jumps up with it. The US Dealers are going be busy selling units to Canadians like hot cakes.. We need to stop buying new units from here on out until the prices go down IMO. We control the market.
I bought a 2008 Xp 800 this year useds after the problems I had with my bent frame on my Nytro. I have not really taken to this sled. I had alot of more fun on my Nytro. Till now I had to have the handwarmers replaced and now a broken wire in the wiring harness. It doesn't get good mileage...
Yamaha needs to take the sled back the drawing board and CAD it. Then cut all the weight out of her in the process and push the engine back closer to under the handle bars. It could be done..
I smoked a rabbit two winters ago. No match for my Apex... My buddy was right behind me and there was a huge cloud of fur. It was like it was right out of a movie.
I knew that was going to happend. Thats why I stayed away from Yamaha for 2009. Not getting burned twice. I saw the picts of the new subframe it beefed up down low but not where the upper A-arms bolt on. Thats where my 08 bent. Oh and I bent mine going at 15kms an hour.
If you got belt smoke chances are you got a flat spot somewhere. But Turk is right the secondary is wrapped tight and it sometimes stays open if you stop quick.
I had a short tracked Nytro last winter.. So I know how they handle.. I'm more concerned on how the long track tracks in the hardpack. Thanks for your comments.
