What exactly needs to be done to fit a 16" track under

Lee, I'm talking about sanding the drop brackets you are taking off today to cut down. You want to completely round the back edge (at least the inside edge) of them because the track rides very close to them and it can tear up your track edge. Sound like you're on the right track though! Aaron

What exactly needs to be done to fit a 16" track under

Lee, I ended up doing two on mine but then realized you only need to do the one! Make SURE you put your drivers on the far outsides of the windows. This will not allow it to "walk" side-to-side, and also make sure you totally round the back edges of your drop-down brackets to keep it from...

Best Type of Seat Supports for Stock Seat with Glasspack?

Lee, I used a wider stance setup just so that I could get stuff between it and utilize that space! I had snowshoes, folded closed-cell foam pad and a shovel shoved under there and it worked great. My entire survival pack all fit in my Apex seat glovebox. Good luck! Aaron

    Building a $6500 4-stroke mountain animal

My whole point Yamahaboy...........you can make them work for a PRICE! What is a Holz skid....$1500? The sled can be made to work, but it is spendy, time consuming and they are still heavy when done. You can't argue that! Aaron

    Building a $6500 4-stroke mountain animal

We have many RX-1's going up for sale around here for the $3500 range. I just missed one a few days ago by a couple hours in Seattle that the guy let go for $2800. It only had 900 miles on it! Was on Craigslist. My plan is to just be patient and find a really good deal on one maybe this summer...

    Kinda wrecked my sled today!!

Ahhhhh dude that sucks! I've had nightmares about that happening. I've thought many times about installing a tether and never have. Would've saved it! Well........anytime anything like that happens to me I just look at it as a good time to get a new one, or make it better than it was before...

    Building a $6500 4-stroke mountain animal

Not trying to hijack the thread! Just saying what I have said all along. I love the RX-1 for the engine and the reliability, but you have to look real hard at your riding style. When you are all mountains and bottomless powder I honestly don't feel like it's the right sled for your situation...

    Building a $6500 4-stroke mountain animal

I have had an RX-1 that was fully modded with all of these mods for a year and a half. You're right it rocked!! BUT, it's so heavy that I just sold it and bought a '06 M7 and I now realize that the RX-1 just made me a better rider!! This M7 rocks more! It is so much lighter, throws around so...

Camshaft change RX1, ECP?s, and gutted exhaust

The RX-1 and the R-1 cam are identical. I checked into it in depth. With the ECP and a gutted exhaust you will probably have to play with main jetting. If you are mechanical and don't mind.....go for it! Aaron

    M7 Skid install

That will be a sweet setup! in order to pull it off, you will need to go with 7 tooth, 3" pitch drivers and you will have to grind down the lip on the front tunnel cooler. Not much clearance with this setup, but it will work. Only other alternative is a Drop & Roll on the chaincase, and you...

Why is my sled so fast?!

Mark......very nice! That thing is awesome looking. I was trying to tell if you had the Holz relocation brackets on the front arm. If not, it is night and day difference in ride. I was thinking about calling you yesterday on my way over the pass, but didn't have your number. I would love to...
