I looked over my hyfax and still have a lot of life also. I didn't have any vibration with my old 151 1.25 predator track (closed every third). I have since installed a 1.5 crossover clipped every third open window and extroverts. I feel a little vibration but not any concern. I need some more...
I weighed my old 151 proaction on a bathroom digital scale. (note I was missing the mounting harware/ brackets and a couple of wheels on the old skid when I weighed it. 75.5 lbs ZX-2 with everything except the mounting plates 58.5 lbs equals a 17 pound difference.
As for the approach angle...
By cutting an 1/4 inch off aren't you back to a 1 1/4 track? I have the same track on my Mountain I lost a little 1-2 mph at top end but not a huge difference.
It's wasn't chriping at idle only when coming to a stop. It would let out a little chrip. I've but on some more miles with the new belt and seems to have disappeared.
I burn about 1/2 litre to a litre in every 1000 km or so. 1 litre is a little less then a quart. Some 03-04 burn oil you can try ring-free but I found it only works for a while. I might try the product engine restore. Check the tech section there is a post about it right now.
