Pat the trails held up. Hopefully they groom them tonight as we are running to Timmins tomorrow. I took a look at the rear portion of my skis and noticed some scratches from the tric scratchers but it's only cosmetic. Snowing here right now 5cm today and 5cm overnight.
Moved the needles one clip from the top. Took a good look at the carb boots and found the factory seal on the airbox was gone. Siliconed the boots back into palace and covered some of the holes. The rear bank of small holes at the bottom of the air box. Bog is much less, still there but much...
I never changed my riding style (aggressive) with the scratchers. The trails were great here but we've had high temps 4,6 the last two days. We also got some rain. The weather is supposed to changed today with a chance of 2-4 cm overnight. Hopefully this holds true. Heading out on an overnight...
I bought the tric scratchers at the end of last season. So far no issues. I know some guys were breaking them last year but Yamaha re-engineered them with a strong piece at the stabilizer bar mount. I just leave them down all the time. The work great and you never have to remember to pick them...
Update got my new to me coils. Tested prior to install and meets manufactures specs. Installed light show gone. Thinking I have the issue solved took it for a test ride. Idles fine. WOT fine. Mid bog/hesitation still there not as bad. Maybe bad gas. Add additive to try and clean-up fuel not...
This is a great skid, not much messing around just make sure you get the proper springs on initial purchase. Install is straight forward. If you search this forum there are a lot of install photos.
Thanks for this post helped a ton when I was cleaning my carbs. One issue I ran into is I didn't release the pilot screw set had two washers (rubber o-ring and metal washer). I took the pilot screw out and cleaned the passage with carb cleaner turned the carb back over and saw the o-ring...
Went to put the coils back on tested the fit with the new plugs. Two of the four coils don't grab the plugs and hold on to it. I'm thinking the issue is the coils, Looking for a set in the classifieds. Bit of a time crunch as I have a overnighter planned for next weekend. $90 a piece at the...
Finally got around to cleaning the carbs. Than I got to thinking/reading other threads a couple of nights ago. My sled with the air box mod was working fine earlier in the year. Than I started to develop a miss or bog when I went on and off the throttle (WOT to mid back to WOT). This issue got...
The RPM's are a little high you should be in the 10500 range for peak HP. Does the sled have air box mod? Was the sled set up for a different elevation could be the reason for the different jets and clutching. Pull the primary and take a look to see what weights you have.
I run the...
Sled dog. The 03 mnt had a float bowl upgrade because of steep climbs. I've ridden this area before the mod (air box) and never had the mid throttle bog. I may have to change the pilots. Maybe the carbs need a cleaning. maybe I need to change the pilots. I'll try a couple of things. It will be...
I'm running 165 mains and whatever is stock for my 03 mountain. elevation would be in the 0-1000 ft range. I have the same problem as SMOKNZ. I'm having a problem with the Youtube video I post the video when I fix it.
Rode the sled hard today -30 C. I developed the mid bog. It occurred when I was going up the steeper hills coming off then back onto the throttle. I'm not sure if the problem is with the air box mod or my under tunnel exhaust. Maybe not enough back pressure on the glass pack? Any ideas. Sled...
It's running strong no bogs so far. I haven't had much seat time this year. But the time I've ridden it it's pulling strong. Seems to be a little louder but I'm guessing that's the air getting sucked into the carbs.
