I wouldn't! It's the poor mans modification just for more noise! With computers controlling and regulating intake and exhaust, tampering with the airbox or exhaust, might actually set you back in performance. "just because it's loud, doesn't mean it's fast!"

If my Apex GT is only capable of a certified 120 mph on radar, how come its faster than every Ski-Doo, Polaris, and Arctic Cat who claims that they can do 125 to 130 mph? Dont those guys have radar guns, too? :die

No Demo Rides? Or do they bring this years models instead of next years models. We were fortunate to ride a couple factory built FX Nytro's last spring. A lot better set up than anything out of the crate.

NO SNOW= NO SNOWMOBILE RACING. If I want to see snowmobiles racing on the grass, I'll wait for the warmer weather.

If you can ride, you can beat em! My Apex GT and my son's Apex RTX have done well against the competition. They are completely stock, except for 144 studs. We were at a local strip (550') and there was a ZR900 with a lot of work ( most likey a big bore kit, clutching, pipes, etc ) it sounded...

We have a 2006 Apex GT and a 2007 Apex RTX. The RTX is geared one tooth lower, but I wasn't aware of any differences in the clutching between the two sleds. p.s. we still kept our SRX-700 I'm having a difficult time parting with it.

My 2006 Apex GT came with the "older" style snow flap. When my son picked up his new 2007 Apex RTX, I really liked the looks of the "newer" style, so I replaced mine. Looks like a 2007, now. Best advice....still dont be behind one, on a hole shot!

Last years "new model names" that were registered wih the patent office were jet skis. They're due for a new "two-up" luxury model. Maybe, a smaller, less expensive entry model.

Yep, Can't wait to see the 2009's! From now till then, it's anticipation. After next week, it'll be frustration! Why didn't they do this? Why didn't they do that? Maybe one new model, but it won't be a new top end sled. A bunch of refinements and improvements to the existing sleds...

I've heard of guys who have used an old drive belt as a limiter strap. They're definately strong enough for a quick fix!

We have a 2006 Apex GT and a 2007 Apex RTX. The local snowmobile club is planning to sponsor a drag race at the end of February. The distance is only 500 ft. Would it be easier to adjust the suspension on the GT or the RTX for a drag race? Basically adjusting the limiter staps and transfer...
