Just curious if anyone else is seing this trend. This year all im seing in trails are ski-doos Xp and Yammies. after 3000 km of riding i havent seen a single polaris shift. I would have thought that i would have seen at least one by now. As for arctic cat i have seen one f-1000 and thats it. I hope it isnt a trend because i dont think it would be the same without all four brands.

Just returned from riding 6 days in Quebec. Almost all Doos and Yamahas. Very few polaris. Of the Cats there, most were Z1 and 660 4-strokes.

I went to quebec last week around the charlevoix region. I'd say 40% xp's 40% Yamaha Apex's, 18% Polaris FST's and only 2% cat's.(Saw 2 f8's and thats it) I think polaris is slowly regaining the reputation from the fusion. Not so sure about cat, there twin spar sled ride and handle very well, but they are slow and I think that is hurting them.

I spent last weekend around Indian River, Petoskey, Elmira and Gaylord MI. Skidoo is selling some sleds, saw alot of dragons, firecats, not many new twinspar. Saw very few new Yammi's like 3-4 other apex maybe 10 rx-1. did see plenty of sxr's.

cat's have always looked cheap to me, the f-7 is a rocket no doubt, but the cat's aren't cheap and they always seems to have updates, polaris seems to make a good machine but i think alot of people got turned off by the fusion nightmare

We used to see mostly Cats and Polaris in our area, probably because those manufacturers are the closest and pricing, but now I see more Yamaha's than ever, there are pretty the same amount of sightings of Bombardier and Cat, and few Polaris.

Just check the sales from the last few years;
Ski-Doo is number 1
Yamaha is number 2

Ski Doo owns the 2-stroke market
Yamaha owns the 4-stroke market

Cat does have some updates, because if there is a problem, they will make it right with a recall. Recalls cost money. This is one of the differences I noticed switching from Cat to Yamaha. When Yamaha has a problem, they will call it an update and make you pay for it, or not recognize the problem at all. Yamaha will seldom have a recall that will cost them money to fix it.

There has been a definate shift in the trail sled market but in the deep powder/ mountain market Cat and Polaris are still coming on strong. Ski-Doo still holds a big share as well but Yamaha is way behind. There has been a major slow down in Yamaha mountain sleds up here. The weight issue is a serious factor for deep powder riding. Of all the Yamaha Mtn. sleds I see up here the Mtn. Max and Viper Mtns. still out number the 4-Strokes. Hopefully the Nytro MTX line will change that. If the cost of turbos and S/C come down that play a huge part as well.

Cat has alot of updates & recall's, you can't possible compare Cat to a Yamaha, Yamaha will outlast a Cat by 10 years easy, your talking apples & oranges ;)!

I always heard that all the time. But I always had very good dependability with the Cats I owned. Before the '06 Attak that I have now, I had an '04 F7. I put 8,300 miles on it in 2 years. There were NO recalls or updates, and I lost one idler wheel. That's all I did to that sled. In 8,300 miles in the first 2 years of my Attak, I have had bad handwarmers, exhaust donuts and y-pipe broken, cracked rail, 2 susp adjusters broken, front susp. bushings wore out, and cracked susp. arms. I hope the next 8 years are better. But I still love the Attak.
