Anybody know where the best place to pick up a gauge pod is? I was lazy and never got around to moving mine and it got broken on the last ride of the year.
I'm running premium pump gas on an MCExpress turbo Phazer and my sled will pull on a stock Nytro on a long hard run. The Nytro is faster off the line, but the Phazer has more top end. I think if you removed the head shim and ran better fuel the softness off the bottom would be eliminated, but...
I moved my air filter from under the seat using a radiator hose. I also bought a CR Racing air filter setup with 2 prefilters on it and no more bogging or hesitation. I will clean up the setup with aluminum and silicone hoses this summer.
The best thing I did for the overheating problem was putting on the 1.5" freeride track. it eats up that critical extra bit of space between the track lugs and the heat exchanger and doesn't allow the ice to build up in there.
92 Octane with the head shim is what is recommended. I have a couple hundred miles on mine now with no apparent issues. Gonna put on quite a few more tomorrow!
AS much as I like Engine Ice in my mx bike, I would check the freeze point of it. I do not believe that it is cold enough for a prairie winter. From their website, "freeze-up protection to -27° F."
No extra cooling, just had to install the fan on my 07 FX. Fan finally started cycling after I installed the turbo. It had never turned on after I installed it until I installed the turbo this winter.
Don at Prince George Yamaha recommended getting a different air filter setup. I have one on order from CR Racing. It looks basically like a tin can full of holes with a prefilter on the outside of it. When i receive it I will take some pictures and let you know how it works. Don recommended...
1. My header is wrapped. My kit from MCX came with header wrap.
2. I AM going to be trying a CR Racing air filter once it shows up at the dealer. Basically a tin can with holes in it and a pre filter on it. I have also been told just yesterday that the K&N Prechargers are not the best for...
I haven't noticed very much oil consumption at all, but I only have 250km on my turbo now. I am still having lots of bogging issues when I get into powder however.
The fan runs off of a thermostat so that it will only run when needed. Mine never turned on after I put on the 1.5" freeride track and diluted the antifreeze. Water Wetter does help. It does run now that I have installed the turbo on my sled.
