I've got a stage 2 MPI and put 3400 miles on it last year. great trail sled but if you think you don't have to wrench? I went through 8 blower belts.. they didn't break but the cogs would get chewed off at WOT. MPI says they have a new belt but haven't seen or tried it yet.
I ran 3500 trail miles at 10lbs on pump fuel/race 50/50 this past winter without any problems. Had the O2 sensor dialed in pretty well. Anything more would require even more octane probably all 110 octane. I'll probably just save the pulleys for festival weekends hanging on the lake. Still got...
Finally got the new pulleys for my stage 2 apex kit. It consists of 2 pulleys and a new composite supercharger belt. This is supposed to make 14lbs now.
MPI says max on the stage 2 is 17lbs and requires 2 different pulleys the new belt and a new auxilliary fuel pump.
I've been stuck at...
It seems to me, anyone that's had a problem and I believe it to be very few....either had their chaincase cover off at some point before the problem or never checked the fluid in the first place (be honest). This idea about the source of complaints being a magnesium chaincase cover is...
Great Videos Dan. Can I ask a question of anyone though, why is it everytime I check out someones videos on this site, instead of hearing the sweet sounds of snowmobile motors I have to listen to crappy head banging soundtracks??
The A arms and rear bumper and ski saddles are chrome, had the spindles sanded smooth and chromed. all metal was done by Chrome Masters and they did a great job quickly, deep triple chrome plating. 3500 miles and no chipping or scratches. Tried to post pictures but don't know how.... I'll try it
Where can one stay in revelstoke? can you ride from a hotel or trailer up the mountain? I don't even know where it is! I'm going to google it right now.
I had mine chromed by Classic Components in California, They did the exhaust covers, gas cap and front bumper. Got some scratches on the covers from my boots this winter and they chromed the inside of the gas cap which I had to scrape off when it started flaking off. Looks great but took 4...
Don't kid yourself, If that big bore ZR runs you'll not keep up with a stock 150hp apex, buy a supercharger or turbo this summer and tape your hood shut and never admit it.
The 100% antifreeze issue must be the problem, when my stock RTX overheated on that 45degree day I poured a couple bottles of water in the coolant system that night to replace the lost fluid. The next day, the overheat light didn't come on again. What an easy fix!!
The supercharged apex...
The 07 Apex featured a radiator w/ electric fan and a rear heat exchanger... now it looks like someone deleted the exchanger off the yamaha site!

I run mine at 8 low and 15 high, I use hammertimes fully loaded with the white spring and it runs 10,400 on high. for trail riding i pull the three washers out of each heel just leaving the bolt and the sled runs 10,100 on low boost. In the rear I have a Team Clutch 40-32 helix. I found this...
might started clogging up with one tank of 100% VP112, previously ran 1200 miles with 50% Torco 110 and pump gas without problems. Replaced the wide band sensor for $79 direct from Bosch distributer. Back to Torco now
