Trickle charge in the fall?

Yep the manual is useless for some things! Wouldn't it be the same as on an RX1? Any of you RX1 guys have any ideas?

In the owners manual it says to lubricate the steering column bearing with specified grease! Where is this bearing? Are there any links on this site for a shop manual for RS Vector ER? Thanks :rocks:

I start mine EXACTLY the same way as NOMOREBRAHPP and works very well for me when cold (-20C). However when it is warmer (-5C) it wants to sputter at half choke so I turn it off almost right away and keep the RPM up around 2500 with the trigger. The weather is very sunny here and can see...

Some one needs to design a cap that locks! $$$Invention Not only so they don't get stolen, but so some idiots don't put snow (or something worse) in our gas tanks!

26 mpg(IMP) CAN. No high speed running , mostly twistie trails.

No oil consumption during break in (1100kms) None burnt after break in. Currently at 3100kms or 2000mi

Thanks Chance It says in the book to replace Drive chain oil every 3200km! Is this necessary? Seems to me it should last longer than that.

Does any maintenance need to be done on secondary clutch. (grease?) Thanks

I've only seen 102 (162 km\hr) several times on long lake runs and railway bed trails. Good snow conditions and cold -10 to -20 Celsius each time! Sled runs great but I wonder why I can't hit some of the other guys speeds?? Sled has 3000kms.

I have to give credit where credit is due! My Yamaha mechanic showed me the trick! He learned it at a maintenance seminar! One thing to remember (when your thumb is getting cold) that this also turns the thumb warmer down to the lowest level! So your presets aren't screwing up!! :shock:

Mine is quite noisy also but anything over 60 mph - all you can here is the wind! It would be nice if all the trails accepted over 60 speed :ORC

A handy trick if you don't really want to start the engine to see your tripmeter, odometer or fuel gauge! With key off--Hold down thumbwarmer and then turn key on continuing to hold down thumbwarmer for 10 seconds. Alas she lights up! :yam:

I was having the same TORS problems. The service tech was at the Yamaha dealer the day I brought it in and he said he would send up new 2006 carbs. They wouldn't tell the dealer what the fix was with the new carbs but since they put them on - no more TORS problems. At least not yet! (100kms since).
