I have done alot of searching and reading about air box mods, exhaust mods, fuel controllers and air fuel ratios but have yet to see this discussed. it is my understanding and correct me if i'm wrong that on a bone stock apex the ecu would add or subtract fuel depending on the outside air...
i had this happen to me before. my buddy is a welder by trade and just welded a patch over the hole. good as new tons and tons of miles on the welded cover no problems. if your chaincase was dry you will have to inspect your chain and gears really well for damage and may need to replace them.
hey just did my right front bulkhead due to a crack as well, got a welder buddy to fix it and now looks good as new. The way i see it the bulkhead is pretty self aligning as there are about 15-20 rivets that hold it in that have to line up. As well as i think it was 6 bolts / studs that...
i would say if you can tap or press the needle bearing out of the aluminum you could take it to a local bearing shop and they should be able to match it up and order you new ones. if they don't come out easily you could try heating up the aluminum block with a plumbing torch. the outer cage of...
I have run woody's signature series in all my sleds for the last 6 years. 1.175"s in my one inch tracks on an srx sxr and rx1 and 1.325"s on my two apex's with 1 1/4" tracks. never had them bend or break. had over 8000km's on the ones in my sxr and rx1 and were still plenty sharp and hardly...
thanks for the input turk i will try that setup when the snow flies. ya it did seem a little out of balance having that much in the shoulder and so little in the tip. however aside from the issue i was describing it ran awesome last season. pulled really hard off the line rpms shot right up to...
hey turk weight does not hit against the shoulder i have clearance notches in the outside behind the heel. i am running the white hc spring as well. running 4g in the tip 8.2 heel. maybe the abruptness is just the nature of the beast when it comes to the power band of the apexes. seems like the...
the primary springs are the white ones that come with the heel clickers and are brand new. so don't think they are the problem. towers slide freely when they have the cap and spring off. not sure what else it could be.
I have an 06 and 07 apex both running heel clickers. I noticed last season that i had a pretty high and pretty harsh engagement. in order to get my engagement down around 4000-4100 i ended up having to run about 8.2 grams in the heel. i also noticed that when trail riding in the twisties it was...
I don't think there is a huge price difference between guided and non. If the clips that are on there now are guided I'd say your safe with just the flat. most tracks come with only every third as a guided clip anyways. I redid a bunch of clips on mine and used guided figured it couldn't hurt...
Have a 2003 rx1 with ecp filter kit and evac setup, hauck intake and exhaust cams, head shaved 10 thou, custom port and polish by myself and a white knuckle qc1 exhaust. my problem is i can not get rid of a low end burble. almost sounds like the sled is missing around 5 to 7 thousand rpm. all 4...
true never thought of that. shouldn't overflow should just fill to float height might just be hard to get an accurate mearurement with vibrations from the motor. thanks for the tip.
that is what i thought on the tang part. i'm not sure what it measures to the farthest rounded part i'll have to check next weekend when i go back to my cottage. i will also try measuring the fuel level while on the sled. i suppose if i just turn the motor over a few times before i measure each...
so just for clarification if the carbs are upside down bending the tang up will lower fuel level? maybe this is why it ran better when i bent the tang up. floats looked in good shape not bent only the tang was bent by me. the manual is not very clear on where to measure on the float i was...
went to adjust the floats on my sled this weekend and check the fuel level as per the manual. measured floats at 9 mm so adjusted them to about 13 mm figured i'd split the difference of what the manual said. didn't check the fuel level thought i'd try it with that adjustment first ran it out on...
