I just bought the latest issue of swedish sledmag Snowmobile. Their article on RTX se was the worst i have ever read.
For example, they said that yamaha changed the frontend geometry and shocks once again for -10.
They then stated that the difference from the -09 was very noticeable! "Better...
I would like to see some of the tecnology from the nytro snowcross macine on the consumer sled.
Weight reduction.
Aluminium cast subframe.
Tank under the seat.
Header and exhaust on top of the tunnel.
This would move the weight backwards on the sled and make it more balanced.
And the...
I did some research and found that i dont have the latest version of the backcountry.
I have the one in the lower picture. Seems like we havent been talking about the same track. No wonder there are diffrent oppinions
I had all 4 revalved. Before the revalve they were incredibly stiff. The front end bounced over stutterbumps. Now they work like a shockabsorber shoud! Big improvement.
Since im from Sweden, my floats may have a diffrent valving compared to what you get in norh america. (We usually get harder...
With the pioneer valving the sled gets incredible in stutterbumps!
I just need more compression daming in the center shock for the really big hits and g-outs.
The front end is worlds better then stock, the front end was the biggest improvement over stock.
I have Pioneer valving in my 08 RTX.
I think it works good, exept for the centershock that is to soft. Im going to have the centershock revalved a bit harder before snow falls, then it will be great.
The drivers will be designed just like all other Yamaha extrovert drivers.
Check out the drivers from the MTX models, if you want a clue of what they will look like.
Yes soft, the lugs fold on hardpack trails.
But i just saw that tracksusa has 2 diffrent Backcountry tracks, one is for snowcross. That might explain why there are diffrent impressions about how hard the lugs are?

I can defenetly say that the lugs on my...

I just read at a swedish snowmobile site, that MCX is going to produce a Turbo kit wich Yamaha dealers in North america are going to offer as an accessory.
It will be a cheaper kit without a head chim and will produce 180 hp.
Here is the link, incase some of you can read Swedish, or just...
Exactly what i was thinking. A ski that is designed like the mountain ski, but with a little bit less agressive keel. That would be the pefect ski imo.
Thank you for your answer. If we dont get it over here, i will order from Port Yamaha wich i have dealt with before. And yes the Euro goes a long way, but the Swedish crown defenetly dont these days. :o|
I ran Slydog Powderhounds before getting the MTX skis.
Did not like the lack of steering grip of the Slydogs.
They steer ok on hard trails, but not good enough in softer conditions like we often have around here.
You forgot to put Yamaha MTX skis in the poll, so i had to vote other.
I was riding yesterday in conditions like Alatalo mentioned erlier. Great ski!!!
