I have an 08 with 9000km and had the chaincase bearing replaced last season so I would suggest you change it and while you have the skid out you should change any bearings that are doubtful. I had to replace the one in the middle on the back shaft on my 06 after 5000 km.

The 06 didn't have the problem with the shifting as it only had the hi/r transmission which worked the same way as the tf.
