Ignition failure ?

Anyone had a pickup coil failure on a VKpro ? Our 07 at Wolverine here in Ironwood will run for about an hour, then sputter for 50 to 100 yards and shut off. Let it sit for a half hour and it starts right up and runs fine. When this happens there are no warning lights flashing, no overheat, just shuts off. Unit has overheated often before we had second radiator installed,which is why I suspect pickup coil is breaking down.

Have you tried a new set of spark plugs. I had a problem with my 06 while not exactly like your problem it was similar and it turned out to be a fouled plug.
My motto is try the simple things first

Plugs are new two weeks ago cause I fouled one trying to get it to run with a plugged pilot jet due to me failing to drain the carbs last spring. So, the carbs are recently cleaned also.
