Interesting - not sure where my dealer got his info, he seemed to imply that he was speaking with someone at Yamaha Canada and that's where he got the ETA. Will have to see in January - will report back what I learn
Very nice, I'm going to do that - nice finish. I left my plug in right foot well (where you put them in the
Apex) - might reposition it as you have done for easy access.
Just a heads up, if you are simply slitting the two halves, don't pull the bolts all the way out - you can end up with oil in the bottom bolt holes and then split the casing when you reinsert the bolts and tighten them down

I ended up using the Yamaha tunnel bags - did the really want to but in the end it isn't bad and was really reasonably priced. I can also strap on another bag on top of it along with saddle bags - in the end there is lots of room.
I have a Garmin Zumo and hard wired it. Simply ran a power line directly from the battery and put a fuse on it. That way the GPS stays on when I turn off the machine for gas, to talk etc. Works really well. Feeding the line is easy, remove the seat and you are there - fish wire from the clutch...
Anyone have any damage to the cowling as a result of a broken belt. Looking to add some protection so I don't damage plastics as a result of broken belt at high speed. Was is the 911 cover you are referring to?
New clutch on SW - no bolts. To adjust simply add or remove washers from behind the 14mm bolt holding secondary in place (there are 2 there from factory). Better idea is to go to Justin at OSM a D get his float - very easy to adjust belt deflection and open clutch to change belt. Look for OSM...
I had a inline coolant heater in my Apexes and never had a starting problem. A few nights it was - 35C. Usually plugged in over night then unplug it an hr before I started in (but not always). A few times I was the only one started out of 12 machines (both 4 and 2 strokes).
Installed my oil tank heater - located at bottom of back side (next to muffler). Seems to work well - will certainly keep oil warm and heat does get transferred to bottom of motor. That said I did notice there is potentially a spot for an in line rad heater (had I know I would of tried that)...
