I'm told a lot of use is corrosive to the valves and causes pitting, which in turn prevents a good seal between the head and valve. This requires pulling the head off, lapping valves and re-assembly.......minor job for a master technician like yourself.
From what I've observed over the last few weeks, Im thinking...... if JT put as much time tuning his sled, as he does posting on the internet, no one would stand a chance!! Lol
Just kidding Bud ......we definitely all need snow!!! Lol
No...it fits, I've run it and it works great. I had it machined for belt alignment and experienced much better belt life.
In a 1 mile race it was 2-3 lengths slower, than factory roller, so I took it off. If I wasn't shooting for 150mph on snow I'd run it all the time, but need every stitch I...
I have a hoarding story, but it doesn't include parts......
Like most here, I like to snowmobile....a lot. In order to support this addiction, I subscribe to 3-4 snowmobile publications per year. After reading each magazine from cover to cover I would store them in a closet. In addition...
Hmmmmmm ...... DMC stores his belts folded up, and he does over 140 mph in the Quarter Mile. I think I'll start storing mine folded up too. Maybe I'll go faster?? Lol
My 22 LTX was suffering from similar issues. Sled sits in heated garage, but last winter would turn over slowly and have a hard time to start. Acted like there was a bad cell.
One day sled wouldn't start at all and battery was dead, yet I rode it a few days prior. Thought this was odd...
With my setup, the redline was stickier than an ultimax and pulled 100 rpm less. I found the tensile strength to be weaker than the ultimax or gboost. However, I would take it over a 8jp any day.
I think on stock/lower power levels it is a good option and has a great price point.
If I had to do it over, I wouldn't bother with the steps I progressively took:
1. SMM tunes,
2. PM Tunes
3. Header Tunes.
Instead, I would go straight for the big turbo tunes, weld the wastegate shut, and build the motor to withstand the abuse.
I wouldn't need power steering, because the...
New year, new goal.......always raising the bar.....I love it!! Best of luck DMC!
My goal has never changed:
Trail sled, stock motor, stock turbo, stock clutches, groomed trail, on snow....150 GPS!!
What started as a goal has become an obsession. Everyone in my circle tells me it can't be...
The shift profile on the Dalton's is much more aggressive than your stock weights, which have a rather flat profile. Hence, you don't need as much weight.
